Use Potassium in Prunes to get Constipation Relief

rudy silva

Potassium and prunes are a natural constipation remedy that you can quickly use to help you get constipation relief.

Potassium is needed in your colon walls to insure that peristaltic action occurs. Without potassium, colon walls are weak, lack tone, and unable to respond and contract properly when fecal matter needs to be move.

Potassium in your colon wall tissues brings in more oxygen, which is required for good cell function and elimination of toxins. In addition, potassium creates an alkaline environment inside and outside the cell, which help protect cell walls from bacteria, fungus, and other pathogens.

Potassium is a powerful source when it comes to cleaning, feeding and building your colon walls. Removing the thin layer of buildup – harden mucus, dried fecal matter, waste derby, heavy metals - against your colon wall can be accomplished by eating those foods that are high in potassium.

Excess build up of fecal matter and toxins on your colon walls can cause constipation. This build up can also stop the re-absorption of mineral through the colon walls as is necessary by a normal functioning colon.

Potassium is necessary for reducing anxiety and depression. These conditions can affect peristaltic movements of your colon. Lack of it causes muscles and organs to sag and lack tone.

Potassium, also, draws water out of the body. So when potassium is in your colon it attracts water and pulls it into the fecal matter. This makes your fecal matter softer and easier to move along the colon and thereby preventing constipation.

To get more potassium into your diet make a constipation remedy drink by,

Pouring hot water over dried prunes and waiting 10 minutes. Then eat the prunes and drink the juice Do this on an empty stomach in the morning. You can also soak prunes overnight in the refrigerator and in the morning heat them for 5 minutes before you eat them.

The high concentration of potassium and vitamin A, in prunes, stimulates enzymatic processes. These processes melt down fecal wall wastes and dissolve blockages. They also activate peristaltic action to move this waste out through your rectum.

The best foods to eat that are high in potassium are:

Kale, cabbage, yellow tomatoes, spinach, carrots, broccoli, cucumbers, cauliflower, alfalfa sprouts, goat milk, sesame seeds, wheat germ brewers yeast, flax seed, grapes, green peppers, pineapple, beets, potatoes with skin Blackstrap molasses

If you have any kidney disease, do not take potassium supplements unless directed by your doctor. If you are pregnant, take potassium only under a doctor's direction.

If you are on any type of drugs, do not take potassium unless directed by your doctor.

When you have constipation it is best to take potassium supplements. Once you have your constipation eliminated back off on the potassium you are taking and depend on your potassium dose from the foods you eat. Taking an excess of potassium can be just as harmful as not getting enough potassium in your diet.

My recommended Potassium dose is 1000 – 3000 mg each day taken with meals.

Urinary Tract Infections Helped with Cranberry Juice

Alfred Jones

Cranberry Juice is very rich in Antioxidants and Nutrients which can help to prevent degenerative illnesses and diseases, particularly those associated with the eyes, it is a well known supplement that is frequently used in overcoming UTIs or Urinary Tract Infections, and it could be called a vitamin that boosts the immune system, by increasing and improving cellular communication within the body.

Cranberries are very popular in the United States, especially around Thanksgiving Day, because it has become traditional to have it as a sauce with the Thanksgiving Turkey. The berries are very tangy and tasty, they are also loaded with Vitamin C, they were often used by sailors in days gone by, to prevent scurvy.

When Cranberry Juice is taken for Urinary Tract Infections, researchers found that patients passed a anti bacterial substance in their urine, which cured the infection. Unfortunately UTI is one of those diseases that is inclined to periodically return and become a chronic condition especially among ladies. More research has found that if taken regularly, it can be very effective in preventing a return of the infection.

Cranberry Juice is thought to attack the infection in two ways, one is through the acidity that is produced in the urine, which attacks the bacteria, secondly the Vitamin C content is an essential element in helping the immune system to do its work, because it is receiving what is needed, for efficient functioning. The immune system is the natural healer of all illnesses and diseases in the body, but of course it must have the required vitamins and nutrition for this purpose.

Cranberry Juice can also help in preventing degenerative diseases, such as heart disease, strokes and certain cancers, Cataracts are a cause for concern among the elderly, with vision impairment or even blindness, it has been know to slow down and even stop the progressive deterioration of cataracts.
It has also been shown to be very beneficial in helping to slow down macular degeneration, and to reduce the blood leakage with diabetic retinopathy.

I am not in the business of selling either Cranberries or Cranberry Juice, there are already plenty of suppliers out there, so there should not be any difficulty in obtaining a quality product, try to go for a good brand, that is as natural as it can possible be, and do not choose the cheapest, as this could be a false economic choice.
The point that I am making, is that this, is an excellent natural remedy for a number of problems. Cranberries are considered safe for everyone, but if you are going to take it for medicinal purposes, Please consult with your physician first, Antibiotics might be considered necessary, first before trying Cranberry Juice.

Herbs For Natural Sleep - Valerian Root

Donald Saunders

Insomnia, which has been with us for as long as recorded time, affects the lives of literally millions of individuals worldwide causing mild irritation to some people and seriously affecting the quality of life for a substantial proportion of us.

Finding a cure for insomnia and getting back to nights of natural sleep can be difficult but, for a lot of people, the answer lies in turning to time-honored traditional herbal remedies such as valerian root.

Valerian, a hardy perennial with sweet smelling pink or white flowers, grows in numerous parts of Europe and Asia and now also grows naturally in areas of the USA. Other names frequently used for valerian include: garden valerian, and garden heliotrope (no relation to Heliotrope - Heliotropum).

Valerian is also referred to by various folk names: All-Heal, Bloody Butcher, Red Valerian, Set Well, Sets Wale, Phu, English Valerian, Amantilla, Cat's Valerian, Vandal Root, St. George's Herb, , and Capon's Trailer.

The principal components used for medicinal purposes are the roots, rhizomes (underground stems) and stolons (horizontal stems). Generally harvested in September, the dried roots can be used to prepare teas and tinctures, while the dried plant materials ordinarily find their way into tablets or capsules.

There is reference to the use of valerian for medicinal purposes as far back as the time of rome and ancient Greece. Hippocrates documented its therapeutic uses and, in the 2nd century, Galen prescribed valerian for insomnia. The 16th century saw it used to treat headaches, nervousness, heart palpitations, and trembling. In the mid-19th century, many people considered valerian a stimulant that stimulated Some of the complaints it was thought to treat and held it in low esteem as a medicinal herb. During World War II the English used it to relieve the stress of air raids.

As opposed to many other natural herbal sleep aids, to gain the maximum benefit from valerian you need to use it regularly, with the full effects appearing slowly and steadily over time.

Results will usually appear after about one month and regular use promotes natural sleep and deep relaxation. A variety of studies suggest valerian as far and away the best natural answer for insomnia and general sleeplessness for many individuals.

Research at the Nestlé Research Laboratories in Switzerland demonstrated that a 450 mg dose of valerian in an aqueous extract is the optimum dose as a treatment for insomnia. A larger dose commonly results in grogginess without any increased effectiveness, and thus care should be taken when giving that valerian is a treatment for insomnia.

In addition, a double-blind crossover study of 128 people carried out in 1982, found valerian root to not only be effective as a sedative for insomnia, but also to be of assistance in raising the overall quality of sleep in the participants.

Commonly prescribed as a calming sleep aid, valerian also plays a very useful role in treating anxiety-related sleeping difficulties.

Unlike other normally prescribed sleep medications, valerian is not toxic, does not impair your ability to drive or operate heavy machinery and does not magnify the effects of alcohol.

It has been documented that valerian acts as a delayed stimulant for some individuals depending upon body chemistry. With certain metabolic conditions, the effect is one of initially calming you down only to create a surge of energy a few hours later - not an effect wanted by people interested in employing valerian as a nighttime sleep remedy.

A number of professional herbalists advocate taking fresh valerian root extract as opposed to an extract of dried valerian, as this is less likely to create such a reaction.

Alternatiave Medicine - The Healthy Choice

Jem Bacchus

Alternative and Conventional Medicines are the two main systems
of healing in use today and the utmost caution should be taken
to choose wisely.

Being healthy is of crucial importance in the life of everyone.
I do not believe that there is anyone who relishes the anguish
of disease. Without health you cannot function properly in any
area of your life.

Whether enjoying the normal faculties of life or mentally
unbalanced, every person would rather be perfectly healthy than
endure the tortures of pain, sickness and disease, but there
comes a time when we must seek medical help.

It is unfortunate that instead of healing the sick, very often
some medicines interfere with the natural process of healing,
resulting in additional suffering and further deterioration of
health.

In ancient times, illness was cured by the use of herbs and
other natural therapies which always proved very effective.
Today, those same therapies as well as modern discoveries based
on those of ancient times are referred to as alternative
medicine and the public has been brainwashed into believing that
the treatments are worthless; yet, many diseases that have been
deemed 'incurable' are being healed by alternative means but,
unfortunately, these cures have never been heard of by countless
sufferers.

What is called conventional medicine (also referred to as
mainstream, standard, allopathic or orthodox medicine), is
man-made synthetic drugs that were not in existence in ancient
times. Interestingly, so many diseases were not around in those
days as there are today.

The main difference between the two systems is that alternative
medicine is concerned about the prevention of disease and pays
attention to and deals with the cause by treating the body as a
whole. It focuses on preventing disease before it starts. It
views the presence of disease as an imbalance of the emotional,
mental and physical state of a person and endeavors to support
and strengthen the immune system by natural means.

Alternative medicine contends that the body is naturally able to
heal itself and remain stable - known in medicine as
homeostasis.

On the other hand, conventional medicine is not concerned with
preventing disease but rather with using synthetic drugs to cure
an already established ailment. It is more interested in
treating just the symptoms of disease by scientific techniques
and technology instead of treating the whole person.

Many conventional drugs are said to have the potential to damage
the liver and kidneys, and cause mental depression, heart
falure, cancer and other adverse side effects. Now, if that is
so, why are they still being manufactured and sold to the
public? Where is the concern for public health and safety?

Note that since the introduction of conventional medicine,
instead of there being greater relief from illness, there has
been an exponential surge of diseases wreaking havoc in the
lives of unsuspecting mortals. Why is this so?

If conventional medicine were the answer to health problems, why
are there so many more diseases prevalent today? The interesting
thing is that a name is readily given to each new disease and
some form of synthetic remedy is quickly manufactured for sale!

Conventional medicine has been so well advertised that the
public is convinced that it is the only way they can get relief
from devastating illnesses. They jump at the announcement of any
new supposedly super healing conventional medicine and with no
hesitation embark upon treating themselves. This is especially
so in the case of weight loss.

The sad thing is that no real cure is realized from these,
whereas there are natural remedies that have been proven to
cure. I can personally attest to certain cures that I have
experienced through the use of natural remedies.

It is well known that some drug manufacturers have had to
withdraw their dangerous medication because of the likelihood of
patients suffering heart attack and stroke. Most synthetic
drugs, if not all, have dangerous side effects of which the
public is unaware. Some are very detrimental to unborn babies.
So why are these drugs still being sold and at such exorbitant
prices?

The general public is not sufficiently made aware of the dangers
of conventional drugs. For obvious reasons, no attempt to do so
is made by those who should educate the unwary and encourage the
use of alternative medicine.

Obviously, if disease is prevented by natural means before
resulting in the breakdown of the immune system which is the
body's mechanism of defence against illness, serious diseases
such as cancer and other so-called incurable diseases would be
prevented, and so there would be little need for the
administration of expensive conventional medicine since that
would be necessary only in case of surgery and other traumatic
conditions.

Another point that I think worthy of note is about products so
readily put on the skin. Most of them are formulated with
harmful synthetic substances that get into the blood stream and
invariably cause dangerous side effects. As it is said, what you
would not eat, you should not put on your skin.

Remember that the skin absorbs and cannot differentiate between
synthetic chemicals and natural substances. You may not see the
adverse effects now, but years later your skin would speak for
itself. You do not want to look older than your age, do you?
Then do not poison yourself with the topical application of
toxic skin products.

No one should be so busy so as not be able to find time to learn
about the natural substances that they could take to protect
their own bodies and prevent diseases. Many thousands of persons
might have been alive today if only they had known, and had been
encouraged to use natural remedies.

I enjoy reading to find out about ancient formulas and
treatments that have resurfaced today, as well as new
discoveries of natural healing methods and remedies that are
gaining momentum amongst health conscious persons.

Ï have collected lots of information on herbal remedies. Among
them are such topics as heart health the natural way,
aromatherapy essential oils, homeopathy, beautiful skin care,
skin diseases, healing for conditions such as acne, hemorrhoids,
eczema, etc., weightloss, and many other natural health remedies
and detailed information on how to make your own from nature's
herbs, vitamins and nutrients.

Many persons seem to be convinced that natural remedies made by
God do not have the efficacy of the synthetic remedies made by
man!

God who made this world has said "the leaves of the trees for
healing of the nations." God is truth and cannot lie. Isn't it
time that we took Him at his word?

Why should we put our trust in Satan and his lies and put no
confidence in God and His truth?

Since there seems to be no confidence in what God has made, Why
don't we make our own water, sunshine, trees, and fresh air? Why
do we walk upon God's earth? We should make our own basic items
to concoct synthetic remedies instead of corrupting the things
that God has made.

You can seek relief from disease either through natural
alternative medicine by which you can maintain good health and
save; or, through conventional medicine with its ill effects of
costly synthetic prescription drugs at the risk of further
deterioration of your health. It is up to you to prevent
poisoning yourself, avoid unnecessary pain and suffering, and be
healthy.

Keep this in mind:

If you really want to fight disease, Natural Medicine is the
Healthy Choice. But if you'd rather be deceased, Synthetic
Medicine might be the Deadly Choice!!

This article is written for information only and is not
intended to suggest treatment of any disease. Information
contained herein is based on facts I have gathered and just want
to share with interested persons. Anyone suffering from a
disease or has any other medical issue is advised to consult a
recognized practitioner.

Acid Reflux/Heartburn - Simple Steps to Relief

Andrew Kelly

ACID REFLUX/HEARTBURN - Effective Strategies to Stop the Burning. by Andrew Kelly

You've seen the advertisements: Acid reflux is a horrible disease that can cause damage to the
oesophagus and lead to cancer. Are these claims realistic, or simply exaggerated to sell over
the counter medications? The fact is that doctors don't even agree on the causes, treatments,
and long-term risks related to heartburn, so you can believe what you want about the ads.

Heartburn is the uncomfortable feeling resulting from acid reflux, or GERD, gastroesophageal
reflux disease (try saying that out loud a few times). It can feel like a burning sensation
(hence, the name), but can also feel like pressure in the chest, which is why it is sometimes
confused with feelings associated with heart attacks.

Acid reflux occurs when the muscle between the stomach and the oesophagus gets weak or relaxes
at the wrong time. The result is that the stomach contents, including the acid, move up into
the oesophagus. Because the oesophagus doesn't have the protective lining that the stomach
does, the acid literally burns the oesophagus.

What Works?

Several non-prescription drugs may be effective for mild to moderate acid reflux,
such as antacids, which neutralize stomach acids. These include well-known over the counter
medications such as Tums and Rolaids. Another option is H2 receptor antagonists, which reduce
the production of stomach acids. These include Axid AR, Pepcid AC, Tagamet HB, and Zantac 75.
Pepcid complete is the only of these that combines an antacid with an H2 receptor antagonist.
Which is the best treatment? One study found that Pepcid complete performed better than either
an antacid alone or an H2 receptor antagonist alone.

Prescription drugs prescribed to treat acid reflux are called proton-pump inhibitors. These
include Aciphex, Nexium, Prevacid, Prilosec, and Protonix. While these are equally effective,
one study did find that Nexium may heal esophageal sores faster.

Homeopathic Remedies

Combined with homeopathic remedies, heartburn may be treated effectively
with less reliance on over the counter or prescription medications. Together, these solutions
may provide the answers where just one solution fails to deliver on the promise.

Natural options that may help reduce GERD include deglycyrrhizinated licorice (DGL), which may
bring fast relief and help heal damaged lining. Aloe Vera juice may also act quickly to bring
relief. For those with chronic problems, Gamma-oryzanol (rice bran oil) may be useful, as could
choline, pantothenic acid, and thiamin. These natural solutions may provide more effective
short-term relief as well as provide long-term dietary benefits.

Why Try a Homeopathic Remedy?

The benefits of natural solutions is that they are often less
costly and reduce the chances of becoming reliant on a particular solution. Natural solutions
include treating the cause as much as the affect, and experimenting with diet and alternative
treatments may help lessen the cause of the problem. Additionally, all of the homeopathic
remedies mentioned above can be used along with over the counter or prescription medications.

Does Acid Reflux Cause Cancer?

Studies on acid reflux and cancer vary. One study showed that
chronic acid reflux increased the chances of oesophageal cancer by as much as eight times.
Another study determined that the risk of cancer is not nearly as much as was once thought.
Chronic acid reflux can lead to Barrett's oesophagus, or BE, which has been thought to lead to
an increase in cancer. A study conducted by a group of medical doctors found that the risk of
cancer from BE is not as much as previously thought, stating that BE will not cause cancer for
most people.

What is not questioned is whether or not acid reflux is uncomfortable. Chronic GERD is
difficult to live with, and experimenting with both traditional medications and natural
remedies may be the best solution. As research continues on the causes and affects of GERD,
additional options are likely to come along.

Herbs For Detoxification

Sandra Kim Leong

Herbal remedies are seeing a rise in popularity. This includes using herbs for detoxification. Many people like the idea of using herbs as natural products have minimal side effects. Herbs in fact have many therapeutic abilities. The following list explains some western herbs commonly used for detoxification and why they work.

Dandelion - This is an herb that is good for the whole body, specifically the immune system. It works to eliminate toxins from the cells in the body. It also increases bile and helps it move along. It is credited with boosting white blood cells thus strengthening the immune system.

Licorice Root - This herb has properties that work like an antioxidant, fight viruses and helps the body produce antibodies.

Cascara Sagrada - This herb works like a laxative. It helps the bowels move.

Black Walnut Hulls - This herb also works in the bowels. It works against parasites and removes them from the intestines. It also helps remove fatty material and toxins.

Garlic – Garlic is the classic kitchen-pharmacy remedy and has been used for centuries as an antiseptic. It detoxifies the gut and helps the bowels function properly. It works like a laxative in making the bowels move regularly.

Goldenseal - this herb is well known for its cleansing power. It can rid the body of toxins and help to remove obstructions.

Psyllium - This herb also works to help move the bowels.

Here are some Chinese herbs that are used for detoxification.

Lian Qiao – Lian Qiao is the forsythia flower. It has a cleansing action and helps to clear heat and toxins.

Ju Hua – Otherwise known as the Chrysanthemum. This is a pungent herb that should not be overcooked, or it will lose its potency. It has cleansing properties.

Pu Gong Ying – Pu Gong Ying is the dandelion plant. It is the parts of the plant above the root that is being used as a remedy. It is effective as a detoxification herb.

It is important to know that the main point of detoxification is removing toxins from the body, usually through the bowels. Using herbs is gentler on your system than other methods and you get additional benefits from the nutrients that herbs supply.

Ulcerative Colitis and IBD

S Joseph

Ulcerative Colitis: Due to the regular nature of human digestion
and the essential function of digestion for human survival, it
can be very difficult for the sores associated with ulcerative
colitis to heal once they have become irritated and inflamed.
The most favorable course of action is to simply change one's
diet, experimenting with different food to find a range of foods
that do not exacerbate the colitis, while still offering enough
nutritional value for a healthy life. For more information on
diets for people with colitis, visit
http://www.1ulcerativecolitis.com/. Some people with colitis
choose to manage their symptoms with natural alternative to
conventional medicine. Most of these approaches are centered
around increasing the sufferers intake of: -Herbs, such as aloe
and ginsing -Vitamin supplements, primarily vitamin D and B
vitamins -Specially formulated diet that focus on probiotics for
a healthy gut Other methods available include: -Reflexology (the
stimulation of sensitive areas like the feet hands and ears)
-Chiropractic therapy If these approaches do not work, then more
invasive forms of therapy may have to be utilized. Unfortunately
both medication and surgery are a necessary resort for some
sufferers, although under ideal circumstances, diet and exercise
are unquestionably the preferred approach. Due to the serious
nature of ulcerative colitis, it is extremely important to
consult your doctor for the purposes of continued assessment of
your condition. Even if the choice is made to attempt to remedy
your health via natural means, a doctor can provide important
information on the progress of the chosen treatment. To learn

Types of Hair Loss Treatment Currently Available

Richard Mitchell

The hair loss treatments outlined here cannot provide definitive cures for all hair loss conditions, but they do represent regimes that many sufferers have found useful. In other words, they are examples of potential solutions that many patients have chosen after honestly assessing the causes of their hair loss together with their expectations.

This article will focus on four basic approaches:

1. A drugs based approach for those who don't mind taking strong medications.

2. A commercial product approach for those who prefer a non-drug solution but who still want a treatment that has a track record.

3. A natural remedy approach for those who prefer to follow the natural route.

4. A nutritional approach for those who wish to adopt a more holistic perspective.

It remains a fact that only two hair loss treatments have been approved by the FDA and both can be classed as strong drug-based medications. Propecia (finasteride) is the treatment of choice for many men with good reason - it tends to work! It is a powerful drug that inhibits the formation of DHT in the system, eventually to a level that is sufficiently low to encourage a normal growth cycle. Rogaine (minoxidil) acts differently in that it stimulates hair growth in both men and women by overriding the prevailing hair loss symptoms. These drugs can be used either on their own or in combination. Women should seek professional medical advice before using Propecia.

The world of commercial hair loss products is much less clear cut and it is here that many scamsters ply their trade to rip-off unsuspecting customers. The best advice I can give here is research, research, and more research! Many useful products are available on the market but none have been approved by the FDA. Probably the best, and certainly most popular, commercially available products are those containing natural ingredients that have been shown in field trials to reduce hair loss and encourage regrowth. You can find out more about these products by visiting the site listed at the end of this article.

Increasingly, people are turning to natural hair loss remedies as they seek to combat thinning hair. This has an obvious appeal for many sufferers and there is growing evidence to support the view that some natural remedies may be effective in curtailing hair loss. The most popular ingredients of natural hair loss treatments include ginko biloba, green tea, he shou wu, pygeum, saw palmetto and stinging nettle. Each of these is described in more detail in an supplementary article entitled "Herbal Remedies That Offer Hope".

It is becoming increasingly evident that poor nutrition and modern lifestyles can have a negative impact on health, and hair loss is no exception. At the most basic level, improved nutrition can minimize shedding and support other treatments that encourage regrowth. This can be achieved by:

  • eating adequate amounts of protein.

  • eating appropriate levels of useful carbohydrates.

  • achieving a healthy balance of dietary fats.

Cold Sore Remedy - Mint Tea

Denny Bodoh

Copyright 2005 drbodoh

A cold sore remedy proven very effective, as well as pleasant to
use, is mint tea. Many times I've seen a cold sore completely
healed in as little as 7 days using the mint tea cold sore
remedy described in this article.

As with any cold sore remedy I write about, I'm offering this
cold sore remedy to you for information purposes only. It's a
cold sore remedy that has worked well for many others.

In no way is this cold sore remedy presented as medical advice.
Nothing takes the place of a one-on-one relationship with a
health professional.

Keep in mind also - the best cold sore remedy is one that's
applied topically. A cold sore is primarily an external problem
and is easily treated this way. You may hear of a variety of
vitamins or prescription medications that are useful as an
internal cold sore remedy. These do sometimes help. But, the
simple and direct approach will always give you the very best
results.

This is true with a cold sore or any other problem in life.

Mint is a very powerful cold sore remedy because it has strong
anti-viral properties. Mint also has a very soothing effect,
which has made it a favorite with many folks who've written me.

But first, let's look at the "universal" cold sore remedy - ice.

Ice has been used as a cold sore remedy for centuries. Today ice
is readily available anywhere at any time. Even a cold can of
soda works as a cold sore remedy, when held to the sore.

The replication process of the herpes virus creates the cold
sore. Ice, when applied to an emerging cold sore, discourages
the herpes virus from replicating. The herpes virus hates cold.
Applying ice or any cold object will stall the herpes virus from
creating that hideous sore. And sometimes even send the herpes
virus back into hibernation.

As a cold sore remedy, combining the ice method with mint is
many times more effective.

Mint is very easy to find. The form we use is mint tea bags.
These are available anywhere you find herbal teas. If the mint
is combined with other herbs, that will work fine also. Just
make sure the mint is primary. Mint can also be easily grown in
a window pot if you want to try it fresh. I'll talk about a
special cold sore remedy using fresh mint in just a moment.

This is how we turn mint tea into a very effective cold sore
remedy.

Taking 20 oz. of bottled water and 5 tea bags (about one tea bag
per 4 oz. of water), we make a strong batch of mint tea. Then
freeze the wet tea bags.

Using the frozen tea bags in place of ice, we hold the tea bag
on the cold sore area for about 10 minutes at a time. About 3
times per hour works well.

With this frozen mint cold sore remedy, you get the comforting
and healing effects of ice. Plus, as the bag melts, you are
applying a very strong anti-viral medication. This will kill
thousands of herpes viruses.

Additionally, you can supercharge this cold sore remedy by
sipping the tea. Also, apply the mint tea liquid to the sore
with a cotton ball or paper towel. Now you have an internal as
well as an external cold sore remedy.

This is also a perfect cold sore remedy for those rare people
who get a cold sore inside the mouth. It works well for canker
sores too. As a cold sore remedy, or for canker sores, you can
use the tea as mouthwash. Swish it around for a minute or so,
then swallow it for the internal benefits.

A variation of this cold sore remedy, we've used successfully,
is to freeze the tea liquid. This works best for us using an ice
cube tray that makes smaller ice cubes. This is a little messier
as the cube melts. If you use fresh grown or bulk mint, then you
won't have the tea bags to freeze. In that case, this may be one
way to use your mint as a cold sore remedy.

One final note on using mint as a cold sore remedy.

Using this cold sore remedy, you may not want to, or can't, sit
and hold the ice or frozen tea bags to your lip. If you're on
the go, here's a very convenient and powerful way to use mint as
a cold sore remedy.

You can quickly make an excellent cold sore remedy by crushing
fresh mint leaves into a paste. If you don't wish to grow your
own, mint is often available fresh or dried at your local health
food store. With dried mint, add some water to reconstitute it
and it will make a fine paste too. As you make the paste, mix in
a little baking soda. This raises the pH level, which the herpes
virus also hates.

Now you have a cold sore remedy you can use when traveling or at
work. And, if made with fresh mint, the mint will be even
stronger than in the dried tea form because you aren't heating
it.

I hope you, as so many others have, find this to be an
excellent, cheap and powerful cold sore remedy.

Types of hair loss treatment available to sufferers.

- eating adequate amounts of protein.

- eating appropriate levels of useful carbohydrates.

- achieving a healthy balance of dietary fats.

Please go to Natural Hair Loss Remedies to find out more about the issues covered in this article.

Treatment For Oily Hair

Kevin Pederson

The principle of care for oily hair and scalp condition is the
same as used for oily skin condition. The hair routine aims at
removing the excess oil and to exfoliate skin cells which clog
up and suffocate the hair follicles in our scalp. Infection
usually erupts in the blocked hair follicles which lead to hair
loss and other scalp disorders.

The emphasis is laid on cleansing and toning routines. The
cleansing routine involves washing and rinsing the hair. Since
the hair has to be washed as frequently as it gets dirty and
oily, a natural shampoo on a formulation of herbs such as Amla,
Shikakai, Trifala is ideal.

The ideal shampoo is always gentle in action, thorough in
dissolving the grime and at the same time, not harsh like a
detergent shampoo. Massaging hair and scalp is important for the
wellbeing as well as good growth of the hair. For dry hair,
scalp massaging with oil is recommended. For oily hair, massage
with toning lotion is suitable. A two minute brushing, stroking
and combing routine is sufficient massage exercise for the
scalp.

Oily hair home cure: Shampoo Cleanser Recipe 1. Buy some
shikakai powder from the market. Powder some green grams and
fenugreek (methi) seeds. Mix two portions of shikakai powder,
one portion of green gram flour and half portion of Fenugreek
powder and keep it. When required, mix a tablespoon of this
mixture in the white of an egg and use it as a shampoo. It does
not lather like a soap, or shampoo, but cleanses the hair.

2. Take some dry soap nuts (reetha) and soak them in water
overnight. Mash them in the morning and strain the soapy
solution. Add a teaspoon of shikakai powder and wash your hair.

Oily hair home remedy: A Mint Infusion Recipe 1. If you are
unable to make the shampoo cleanser at home, use this infusion
recipe. Prepare it and mix it in the shampoo you use. To make
the infusion, boil two handfuls of mint (pudina) in
one-and-a-half glass of water for 20 minutes. Strain the
solution and mix in a 300 ml bottle of shampoo.

Oily hair treatment: The Toning Lotion Mix a tablespoon of Malt
Vinegar in a glass of water. Add a pinch of salt in it. Dab two
tablespoons of it on your scalp and massage it with your finger
tips twice a week. Leave the lotion on for one hour. Rinse with
cool water, brush and set your hair.

Treating Oily hair: Other tips 1. Do not use detergent shampoos.
2. Do not use oils unless the cleansing routine leaves your hair
extremely dry. 3. Regularly massage your scalp.

Constipation and Natural Remedies

Rudy Silva

There are two types of constipation, organic and functional. Organic constipation is a result of some physical change, obstruction, or distortion in your colon. This type of constipation needs immediate attention from a doctor. We do not cover constipation that occurs from these reasons.

Functional constipation is a result of not following a proper diet, drinking the proper fluids, having good emotional health, and not having the proper lifestyle that promotes good movement of digested foods through the intestines and colon.

Even though there are many conditions, symptoms and definitions describing constipation, constipation simple is,

A condition where the fecal matter traveling through your colon remains too long in your colon before traveling out the rectum.

Constipation is a symptom that tells you your colon is not working properly or you have some underlying gastrointestinal disease you are not aware of.

Constipation is a warning your diet and lifestyle can be leading to some illness or disease in the future. It is a symptom that many people ignore or it is a symptom that many people try to eliminate by using unnatural dangerous laxatives.

Laxatives are probable the worst product you can use when you have constipation. They can become habit-forming if used too long and have some nasty side effects. They have a tendency to create the problem you are trying relieve - constipation.

It is important to use only natural remedies for constipation so you don't continue to upset the natural balance and function of your colon. As you begin to apply some of these remedies, keep in mind that one particular remedy does not work for every person. You may have to make some changes to some of these remedies, such as increasing dosage, adding substances, or trying different substances.

The remedies you choose to use will depend on specific herbs, foods, or nutrients you have, you can buy locally, you can buy on the Internet, nutrients you prefer, or you can afford.
Experimenting is part of how you find out what is best for you.

Keep in mind that all remedies you should only be used only for a short time, two to four days and not longer than 2 weeks. They should only be used for the time needed to clear your constipation. Sometimes this might just be one or two times.

There are some herbal combinations you can use longer. These combinations can improve the health of your colon and get your bowels moving.

If you have constipation, I can tell you now the natural balance and function of your colon has been affected. But natural remedies can bring you back into balance.

Treating Insomnia Naturally

Brandon C. Hall

Sleep is something that every human being requires. For some people they only need a few hours of sleep every night, but for others if they don't get at a minimum eight hours, they cannot function properly during the day. Their work, their relationships and their life is impacted. Sleep in fundamental to a healthy and happy life.

Insomnia is a problem that affects millions of people each night. If you are one of these individuals and you've spent a night filled with sleeplessness, you would most certainly welcome any method that would guarantee sleep. Having first hand knowledge of how difficult it is not to be able to sleep, gives a person an appreciation for how valuable resting our bodies is.

Insomnia can be a chronic condition for some people. It may begin as a symptom of an illness or during a particularly stressful time in someone's life and it causes such a drastic disruption in the individual's sleep pattern that they struggle to find a way to regain a normal sleep pattern. Spending years struggling to find a method to sleep is a frustrating experience.

Traditional medicine offers many alternatives for people who have suffered from serious insomnia. Sleeping pills are a commonly prescribed remedy. Although they do adequately treat the insomnia, they also often have serious side-effects. One of the most serious side-effects is that they are often addictive. It becomes a trade-off for those who choose this approach. Although their insomnia is treated, they become dependent on medication and in some cases have to stay on that medication for the rest of their lives.

There are natural alternatives that a person can take to treat the insomnia. Some of these are in the form of a pill or a tablet which consists of a combination of herbs. Herbal teas are another popular choice for people who suffer from sleep problems. You simply brew a pot of the fragrant tea and sip it shortly before bed. The soothing effects of the tea lull you to sleep without the chemicals associated with traditional sleep medication. There are a variety of these types of teas available and the taste is very welcome and pleasant.

An old stand-by that many people turn to when they suffer from the occasional bout of insomnia is to warm a glass of milk. There is a chemical that is released in milk once it is heated. This chemical is called tryptophan and it works to relax the body and help you to drift off to sleep. Besides being a natural remedy for insomnia, milk also has the added benefit of being a significant source of calcium.

Suffering from insomnia can change a person's life in many ways. Without the foundation of a steady and regular pattern of sleep, they aren't able to function to the best of their ability. By researching natural remedies for insomnia, the sleeper will once again find the rest they need and do so in a way that is healthiest for their entire body.

Three Natural Cures Your Kids Want You To Know!

Robert Fioravante

Copyright 2005 Robert Fioravante

When Hippocrates said "the physician treats but nature heals," he was describing the human body's natural tendency toward minimizing illness and creating optimal health. As we know, however, the body needs a little help at times. Alternative health practices can support the physical body in its natural propensity toward healing by applying very effective remedies.

In this article we present powerful natural treatments for three health conditions that frequently affect children: asthma, head lice, and pink eye. Orthodox medical doctors and the drug conglomerates won't be overly thrilled that you know these natural treatments; they have no way of patenting or monetizing these cures.

The Asthma Remedy

Asthma is a serious (if not frightening) disorder in which the airway becomes inflamed, resulting in wheezing, loss of breath, and tightness in the chest. About 15 million people in the U.S. suffer with asthma and there are more than half a million hospitalizations resulting from this disorder.

The prevalence of asthma has been increasing for every age group affected. Children have the highest increase; over the last ten years the rate of asthma in children has increased by over 90%. Parents with asthmatic children will know that the quickest remedy for an asthma attack comes from medication, but there are times when a child's inhaler is not available.

There are two natural ways to treat an asthma attack which relate to the soothing effect that warm liquid has on bronchial tubes. First, try some hot soup which can soothe the bonchials. However, the second remedy can be more effective since it includes a warm liquid with an additional ingredient: caffeine. Coffee or tea, with caffeine, can open airways similar to the way inhalers do, so try this during an asthma episode if no medication is available.

The Pink Eye Cure

Before 1938, patentable antibacterial drugs had not been developed, so colloidal silver was the primary "medicine" for fighting infections in the U.S. It is quietly used today as a cleaning agent in water tanks, by airlines for in-flight water purification, and by NASA to sterilize water on the Space Shuttle. Why? Colloidal silver has been found to destroy about 650 viral, bacterial, and fungal "bugs."

One independent laboratory conducted research to determine the effectiveness of a colloidal silver manufactured by a company called Earthborn Products. This silver was applied to both normal and resistant strains of staphylococcus aureus bacteria and incubated at 37 degrees centigrade. The staph cultures were killed in just four minutes! Also, research at the Upstate Medical Center at Syracuse University (N.Y.) found that "silver works on a wide range of bacteria without any known side effects…"

Pink eye (pinkeye) or conjunctivitis is a highly contagious ailment in which the conjunctiva or membrane that covers the eye is infected by a virus or bacterial infection. Although harmless, the challenge is to keep infected family members from contaminating those around them. This challenge, however, has been met with colloidal silver.

Many people are successfully treating their pink eye by applying one or two drops of colloidal silver in their eyes, twice a day. In fact, Dr. Evan M. Kansas reported in Science Digest (1978) that he experienced "instant success" using colloidal silver with immune compromised patients. One example he gave was a patient's pinkeye that was totally resolved in less than six hours after topical treatment!

The Head Lice Cure

Mom and dad, if you're tired of "nit picking," then pay attention. About ten million people in America are afflicted with head lice and their eggs, or "nits." The head louse lives in human hair fairly close to the scalp where it feeds on human blood. Female lice lay about 10 eggs per day and the babies, or nits, hang-on to strands of hair with amazing tenacity.

Getting rid of head lice is a three-step process. You must kill all the live lice, check for and remove all the nits by combing and manual nit picking, and you must do a thorough job of cleaning the infested person's belongings and home environment.

Doctor Lawrence Schachner of the University of Miami School of Medicine has found what he believes is the best, fastest natural remedy for head lice yet: petroleum jelly. This cure works not by poisoning the lice (like the prescription drugs available), but by smothering them.

Dr. Schachner recommends slathering petroleum jelly on your child's scalp and hair in the evening before bed. Then put a shower cap on the child and let him sleep the night with the cap on. By morning, the lice and knits are smothered. The down side? Children must do repeated shampoos to remove the petroleum jelly, so their hair may look oily for a while.

Food As Medicine - The Tasty Approach To Better Health

Rebecca Prescott

Annemarie Colbin, in her book, Food and Healing, presents a chapter on altering diet to combat specific conditions. Her recommendations are based on her own experience as a student of macrobiotics and health food, and a teacher of natural healing and balanced eating. As well as her observations of those whom she treated in consultations, and the transformations of her students over the years. Despite her background in macrobiotics and vegetarianism, Annemarie isn't dogmatic about food - she recognizes that what is healing for one person, during a particular period of their life, may not be healing for others, or even for that same person at different stages of their life.

She takes as her cue the fact that regular foods have been used for their medicinal value in most traditional cultures. The underlying principle is one of restoring balance. Illness is considered a state of imbalance within the body. And like in homeopathy, she believes that remedies can cause similar symptoms to that which they cure - if the symptoms they can cure are not present, and they are taken in sufficient quantity. So, the remedy should no longer be taken once the symptoms of imbalance, the illness or condition, disappears. Otherwise, the remedy may in fact cause similar symptoms to reappear. If this is the case, the remedy should not be taken again, as the remedies are (according to this principle), causing the new symptoms. Serious medical conditions she does not rely on food cures for. She recognizes that Western medicine also has its place. But food being what it is, can also be a useful healing adjunct in those situations.

One thing that impressed her was food's ability to alter our metabolism quickly. She described this epiphany after cooking a meal for some South American friends, who were used to a diet that was high in protein and fats. When they ate the meal prepared by her, which was high in complex carbohydrates like whole grains and legumes, and low in fat, sugar (for dessert), and low in protein, they found alcohol affected them in a way it usually didn't. The same amount they normally drank, which did not make them drunk with their usual fare, got them quite tipsy on hers. She observed from this that alcohol, being expansive in nature, balanced out the highly contractive protein and fat they normally ate. These ideas, of particular foods having an expansive or contractive nature, is one that she learnt from the Oriental healing systems she studied.

This approach touches on a core difference between Western understanding of both food, and medicine, and traditional Chinese medicine's (TCM). TCM has as its conceptual underpinning, the study of relationships between things. Western approaches, to both nutrition and medicine, are based on a reductionist approach. They explore isolated nutrients, diseases that are studied under the microscope, with a symptom that then suggests possible causes, defined within a narrow and static frame. Ted Kaptchuk illustrates this when he describes how, when he was studying TCM in Macao, one of his teachers was talking about shingles. His teacher described how shingles on the face was different to shingles elsewhere, say, on the trunk. The reason behind this was that "the Chinese view demanded another perspective - seeing the relationship of the symptom to the whole body". (Kaptchuk) he goes on to say: "The question of cause and effect is always secondary to the overall pattern...The total configurations, the patterns of disharmony, provide the framework for treatment." (Kaptchuk)

How Dirty Dishes And Stale Bread Saved The World

Doug Smith

Copyright 2005 by Doug Smith

Home Remedies - Facts or Quacks?

That's what I recently asked myself. Myths and legends often
have their basis in a grain of truth. So I wondered if home
remedies, alternative treatments, and folklore cures might
also be based on truth. A little research provided some
astounding results!

He Was No Martha Stewart

In fact, Alexander Fleming had no housekeeping skills
whatsoever. During the early 1900s, Petri dishes, beakers,
and test tubes were piled around his lab like dirty dishes
in a bachelor's sink. That may be appropriate, because he
was studying the growth of bacteria and molds. I'm sure he
had no trouble getting either of those to grow in his lab.
I'm not sure how he kept his experiments separate.

Cashing In On Some Bread

Fortunately, there was at least one experiment that got
contaminated. He discovered that a mold growth called
Penicillium (because the cells are pencil-shaped) had
killed the bacteria he was culturing in one of his test dishes.
The Penicillium mold is often found on bread. He was able to
isolate the chemicals in the mold which killed the bacteria,
which are now known as penicillins.

A Miracle Cure Is Born

The antibiotic effects of penicillin, and its cousin
cephalosporin, proved to be a great aid to the medical
community in fighting bacterial illnesses and diseases.
Over the years these molecules have been enhanced to help
them fight bacteria which had become resistant. Penicillin
is still saving lives today, simply because Al Fleming was a
slob. Thankfully, he was smart enough to notice his mistake
and understand what it meant.

Eating moldy bread isn't going to cure your illness. Instead,
you might need a shot of penicillin to fight the effects of
your ill-advised snack! In this case, however, this home
remedy discovery is definitely a fact.

Treating a UTI Naturally

Nicole Bandes, Certified Herb Specialist

UTIs, or urinary tract infections, are infections that occur in the bladder, urethra or kidneys. While women suffer from UTIs most often, men are not immune. Generally, if a man has a UTI, he should address his concerns with a medical doctor because it may indicate a more serious condition affecting the prostate.

The most common symptoms of a UTI are frequent and urgent needs to urinate even if the bladder is empty, burning upon urination and sometimes abdominal cramping. It is now possible to determine if you have a UTI at home. Most pharmacies sell reagent strips that can be used to detect the presence of bacteria in the urine much the same way a doctor's office will. .

Many UTIs can be treated naturally at home. The most well known folk remedy for UTIs is to drink cranberry juice. There is actually a great deal of scientific evidence that suggests cranberries can inhibit bacteria from attaching to the lining of the urinary tract which will prevent and even treat UTIs. What has always seemed to get lost in the translation is that the cranberry juice must be as natural as possible (no added sweeteners) and should be a high concentrate of cranberries rather than some cranberry and a lot of grape or other juice type. This type of juice is usually not available in a regular grocery store. It can, however, often be purchased from a health food or natural foods store. To effectively treat a UTI, it is necessary to drink a large amount (approximately a gallon per day) until symptoms clear up and then to drink about half as much for a minimum of 10 additional days.

Natural, pure cranberry juice can be very tart. If you prefer, you can take a cranberry juice supplement instead. Some high quality supplements will combine cranberry with Buchu, a diuretic which will help ease the feeling of needing to urinate when the bladder is empty. Remember to take these frequently throughout the day (every 3 to 4 hours is best) and with plenty of fresh, clean water.

Colloidal Silver and Garlic may be used as a natural antibiotic which will destroy the bacteria in the urinary tract. When using garlic supplements, it is important to use garlic that does not have the odor component removed as this is the part of the garlic that is antibacterial. If you are concerned about odor, use a garlic supplement that is combined with chlorophyll and is enteric coated.

Things to avoid during a UTI

* Citrus fruits: May cause an alkaline environment which will encourage bacterial growth.

* Sugars, processed foods, caffeine, carbonated beverages and alcohol.

* Feminine hygiene sprays, packaged douches, bubble baths, and tampons.

With diligence, most UTI's can be remedied at home. However, if there is blood present in the urine or symptoms persist for longer than 1 week, a doctor should be consulted as it may indicate a more serious UTI that must be treated with antibiotics.

Constipation remedy using apples and other juices

rudy silva

Here are two constipation remedies that you can use for a mild case of constipation and for a chronic case of constipation.

Apple and Pear Juice

If you have a mild case of constipation, you can use this remedy to get results.

Prepare equal amounts of fresh apple and pear juice. Drink this combination when you first wake up and one hour before bedtime.

Juice the pears that are slightly hard. If the pear is ripe, it is best to blend it whole with apple juice to create a thick drink. Using the whole pear will give you additional fiber. Just remove the seeds but do not peel the organic type.

Pears have minerals, vitamins, and chemicals that help to clean out your colon, kidney and to regenerate your blood cells.

Apple Juice and Prune Juice

Here's a constipation remedy that you can use if you have chronic constipation. In addition to just drinking apple juice, you can accelerate your peristaltic action with prune juice.

Here's how to do it.

If you have a juicer you can make fresh apple juice and drink 3-4 glasses a day. You can also drink store-bought apple juice but try to get fresh squeezed and not the type that has been flash pasteurized or pasteurized. If you can find fresh apple juice then use flash pasteurized.

Buy your juice in glass containers if possible.

Plastic containers are processed using solvents that stay in the container walls and gradually outgas into the apple juice. This out gassing is more severe when plastic containers are stored in hot places.

To speed up the laxative effects of apple juice, take the following combination first thing in the morning before you have breakfast,

Drink 2-3 cups of prune juice.

After ½ hour, drink one cup of apple juice

Then, 1-hour later drink another cup of apple juice.

I usually buy my prune juice in a bottle and fresh squeeze my apple juice.

Be prepared to head for the bathroom after you drink your prune juice and your first glass of apple juice. You may need to head to the bathroom soon after you drink prune juice, everyone is different. I have used this combination and have recommended it to my clients and have had good results.

Prune juice by itself is good for constipation. It is a safe, gentle and an effective laxative. Drink a cup in the morning and a cup in the evening. Prune juice contain the substance dihydrophenylisatin, which is responsible for the laxative action. Prunes are also high in iron and are a great supplement if you are anemic or low on iron.

If you add prune juice to your diet, do not drink as much of it as you would when you have constipation. Drink ½ glass in the morning and perhaps ½ glass in the evening.

5 Keys to Building Wealth Online

If you are wondering about the keys required to build online wealth, then you have stumbled upon the only source that you will ever need. If you would employ the keys presented here, you would be destined to overcome almost every reason that people fail to build online wealth. The keys are very similar to the keys to build wealth offline as well. So let’s not linger, let’s get to it.

Key #1: Make yourself visible. On your website, provide all information necessary for potential customers to get in touch with you. This info should include an e-mail address, your picture, and your phone number – at least your business number. A personal address is nice, at least the city and state that your are in.

Key #2: Be unique. Everyone has their own set of special knowledge, use yours. Even if you don’t feel like it, you have information that only you know. Be yourself. Express yourself. Be honest and believe in your own approach to presenting your business.

Key #3: Be customer oriented. Tap in to your website with the eyes of a stranger – like your customers will be. View it. Read it. Experience it. And then edit it. Continue to edit out the bad and enhance the good elements of your website. Listen to the input of your visitors. Isn’t it they that you try to please?

Key #4: Automation. The use of auto-responders will catapult you to unseen levels of success. Know that statistics show that the average customer doesn’t make a purchase from a website until they have been exposed to it between seven and nine times.

Key #5: Use online advertising techniques like blog spots and article directories. Don’t forget to engage in offline advertising tactics as well. Newspapers, periodicals, radio, television, magnetic signs on your vehicle and signs along the roadways are all valid resources. Use anything to get people to hit your website, and then deliver their needs to them like you would want yours delivered to you.

Constantly involve yourself in learning about business techniques in general. Online business is still business. It’s time to get down to business.

Toenail Fungus Remedy

Sharon Hopkins

Fungal infections are common on both fingernails and toenails. Toenails are more prone to be affected by fungus, as these living organisms thrive in dark damp environments available on the foot than on hand.

When inflicted with toenail fungus, the nails can turn yellowish or have brownish discoloration. They may become thick or brittle over time and break or shed on own. Such kind of nails is unsightly, disfiguring, embarrassing and painful most of the times. Toenail fungus can happen to any one. It is a contagious disease that spreads on contact too…

Abnormal pH level of the skin, trauma to the nail, unhygienic feet and decreased immunity of the body permit this disease.

Avoiding toenail fungus -

- The fungus thrives in warm moist areas like spas, swimming pools, showers or locker rooms. If you step on a warm puddle or wet floor, you can pick up the infection. After using such public places, it is ideal to wash your feet thoroughly and dry them well.

- Wear cotton socks to absorb moisture from the feet that happens from sweating.

- If your socks are damp, take them off and dry your feet before wearing a fresh pair of dry socks.

- Wear shoes that have a comfortable fit and allow plenty of air and moisture to pass through.

- Avoid sharing towels, washcloths, shoes or any other personal items of those people who have already contracted this disease.

- Wash and dry your feet thoroughly every time. Use a towel vigorously to remove any dead skin and improve circulation.

- Keep your nails cut short, and don't use nail polish.

- Trim your toenails regularly. Trim them into a straight line and then smooth the edges with a nail file.

Toenail fungus remedy –

- Tea tree oil is a potent natural antiseptic and fungicide that will help fight your fungus. Apply undiluted tea tree oil with olive oil to the affected toe nail. Alternatively you can put few drops of tea tree oil on toenails and rub it thoroughly every day.

- Soak your toes in Listerine mouthwash. The powerful antiseptic leaves your toe nails looking healthy.

- Soak your toenails for 15 - 20 minutes in basin full of warm water and natural apple cider vinegar mixed in equal proportion. When done, dry your toenails thoroughly. Use a hair dryer on warm setting to absorb all the moisture in and around the toes.

- Put equal amount of tea tree oil and lavender oil on a cotton ball or swab. Dab it under the top edge of the toe nail and surrounding area 2 or 3 times a day. Tea tree oil is natural antibiotic and lavender will help fight the infection and prevent skin irritation.

- Blend 2 drops of Oregano essential oil with a tsp of olive oil. Apply this mixture on the affected area daily for NOT more than three weeks. Oregano essential oil has antiseptic, antibacterial, antiparasitical, antiviral, analgesic and antifungal properties.

- Until the growth of the new nail is complete, apply apple cider vinegar 2 or 3 times a day.

- Lather AHA creams onto your feet before going to bed. This will flush the rough scaly skin from your feet that is more prone to growing fungus.

The Safety of Natural Therapies

Dr. D.S. Braun

Just because something is labeled or deemed "natural' does not mean it comes without risk! Anytime you introduce another substance into your body, whether it be by ingestion, inhalation or skin absorption, there are inherent risks.

If you suffer from ANY of the following conditions, PLEASE seek the advice of your doctor before using ANY natural remedy - whether it be aromatherapy oils and blends or herbal teas, tinctures, supplements, salves, etc.

Epilepsy (some oils/herbs can actually send you into a seizure!)
High Blood Pressure
Low Blood Pressure
Skin Sensitivity
Coagulation Disorders
Hepatitis
Heart Disease
Liver Disease
Pregnancy/Nursing (there are no safe oils during pregnancy!)
Hormone Replacement Therapy

The golden rules for safety:

1) If you are under the care of a physician, seek his/her advice BEFORE starting therapy.
2) If you are pregnant or nursing, do not utilize natural therapies without the express consent and guidance of your doctor.
3) Keep in mind that many oils are phototoxic - meaning they will increase your sensitivity to the sun. Avoid sun exposure after topical use of essential oils.
4) Do a patch test. Always patch test a new oil or blend on a small area of skin to test for sensitivity. The last thing you want is a huge rash because you didn't know you'd be sensitive to the oil!
5) Natural remedies work well with traditional medicine - the key word being 'with'. If you have any medical conditions, are under a doctor's care for ANY reason, or simply have questions/concerns - talk to your medical professional BEFORE you begin a natural therapy regimen.

Remember - Natural does not mean 'safe'!

Presented of Usa Zip Codes Here?

An important object to keep in mind about ZIP code finder is that they change over time. In some cases these change can be quite amazing, but more frequently they are small and subtle. When a ZIP code changes its definition it does not change its name like a census zone. The ZIP code that was called '63301' in St. Charles County, Mo in 1985 has since been broken into first two and now three ZIP codes. These new codes were not called 63301.01, 63301.02 and 63301.03; they were called 63301, 63303 and 63304. So what is referred to as 63301 today represent about a third of the area that it referred to in 1985. The new code 63303 did not exist 12 years ago and it has already changed its definition so that it now represents about partially of the area it included when it was to begin with created. What this means, of course, is that ZIP codes are really terrible units for doing any kind of time-series analysis unless you have some way of keeping track of all the changes over time. Otherwise, you may wind up concluding that there has been a dramatic downward trend in the population of 63301 since 1980, when in fact just the opposite is true.

What the world really needs to deal with ZIP code natural features properly is a large geographic equivalence organizer linking ZIP code finder to other relevant geographies with a time aspect. Instead, what we have is such an equivalence file that relates ZIP codes to geographic entities primarily used for taking the 1990 census. This file uses ZIP codes as they were defined around July of 1991. What we are referring to here is the ZIP CODE FINDER DATABASE and the corresponding Braintech web application for programming script which we'll be discussion about in more detail is visit you site. For now, what we want to emphasize is that when we talk about ZIP codes we really need to keep a time reference in mind. Just as when you work with census tracts you need to know whether you mean 1980 or 1990 tracts, or when you are talking about the countries of United States -- time is an important dimension.

The Radionics Natural Healing System - The Radionics-Pratictioner

Roger Moretto

A NEW PROFESSIONAL FIGURE

THE RADIONIC-PRACTITIONER
(THE FUTURE'S THERAPEUTIST)

Some of natural vibratory remedies, that we usually buy or that our patients buy for prices which are often little affordable to the big mass, often discourage the holistic approach to the alternative therapies; on the other hand and as far as we're concerned, it is possible (like we'll see in these lecture notes) to reproduce in a radionic way any kind of remedies, for example allopathic and natural remedies, psychic phenomenon and/or mental intents which have been expressed according to the operator...etc....we can't forget that radionically creating also an object or a physic remedy like the aspirin, an essence or a thought, it's always a mental issue like the study about waveforms and radiesthesia (look at the initial chapter of the basic course THE RADIONICS); so we can say that, having now the big advantage to radionically and radiesthesically reproduce the vibration of any our intent, the methods after described, will offer us the great advantage to make any kind of therapy through any kind of approach ON NO ACCOUNT!!!....

Trough this new, wide and fascinating science of the future, which is the radionic and radiesthesia, anyone approaching the issue, can realize an own treatment according to the training, philosophy and approach of every operator (always in the therapeutic field and for general and holistic and non holistic wellbeing) ; for example a doctor could create a good catalyst of antibiotic or other things, a psychiatrist could create Valium, a dentist could make an ant inflammatory, an homoeopathist some ipericum, a psychotherapist or a hypnotherapist some positive messages for the subconscious (in addition to utilize the mental synthesis "radionic graphic n.16 of the basic course"), an herbalist some thyme, a flower-therapist some Bach Flowers, a crystal-therapist could create a rose quartz, a cromo-therapist some colours, an astrologer will be able to direct some planetary and of galaxies influences and in order to treat diseases, a Reiki operator or a spiritual healer will be able to channel respective healing symbols without directly treating the patient etc...., in conclusion every therapist led by his own professional knowledge will be able, thanks to some radionic graphics after mentioned with the present lecture notes, to further take advantage for the healing of his own patients and also thanks to his evolution and experience he will be able to continuously personalize more targeted various and good methods on no account.

AT THE END EACH ONE OF THESE HOLISTIC NATURAL AND NON NATURAL THERAPEUTIC APPROACHES, WILL BE COMPLEMENTARY EACH OTHER...

On the bases of such considerations, a new figure of operator born:

The natural remedy for acne

Kevin Sheldon

Acne can be one of the most distressing of afflictions, given that it tends to strike during the teens (although it can, of course, occur at any time of life too). As a highly visible problem, acne can cause acute embarrassment at the very time when a person is struggling to become comfortable with themselves. The symptoms are varied, and do not just consist of the familiar scarring and skin pitting. Other symptoms can include blackheads, whiteheads, pustules, inflamed and infected nodules, sacs, and cysts.

Caused by over-activity of the sebaceous glands, acne tends to show where these (oil) glands are most numerous (i.e the face, neck, chest, and back). Scarring and permanently expanded pores can result, and this is the symptom most familiar to acne sufferers.

Why does acne occur? Well, every hair follicle produces oil to lubricate the skin and hair. Over-production of this oil can lead to clogging, in which bacteria can multiply. This usually leads to inflammation, and if this sebum, plugs the pores it can lead to blackheads. Whiteheads form when sebum collects below the skin surface. According to reseach by www.freeremedies.com, the most likely time for these outbursts are between the ages of 12 and 24, when the teen hormones are running wild, and androgen production goes into overdrive. There is some evidence that overindulgence in junk foods, the taking of oral contraceptives, certain allergies and stress can also cause acne.

So how can you deal naturally with acne? First of all, cleanliness is vital, and you must always keep your skin washed and clean. Do not be tempted to apply any oils or moisturizers to the affected areas. Instead, use freshly-squeezed lemon juice 3 times a day as a natural antiseptic face wash. Grease from your hair can also exacerbate the problem, so shampoo your hair regularly. Diet also plays a role in acne, so stay off the junk (saturated fats in fried food, go carefully with dairy products, carbonated drinks, caffeine, alcohol, and tobacco). Instead, eat lots of fresh fruit and vegetables. Sleeping soundly will also help, as will regular exercise. regularly, and get adequate sleep at night.

Diet in more detail - raw vegetables can be a life saver for the acne sufferer, say specialists at www.freeremedies.com. Together with non-citrus fruits, raw vegetable juice, cooked vegetables, salads, whole grains, and a few low-fat seeds and nuts, you can construct a diet that can make it very hard for the sebaceous glands to overproduce. Stay right away from peanut butter, cheese, milk, and cream. Some sufferers have reported good results by trying 'vegetable juice' fasts of 1 to 3 days, although you should consult a doctor before considering any kind of fasting.

The second part of the natural remedy for acne is dietary supplements that have been shown to have a beneficial effect. You must ensure you get enough vitamin B6, zinc, and essential fatty acids. A general multivitamin once per day will probably be sufficient to make sure you are getting enough.

Finally, there are certain herbs which have been shown to be beneficial as a natural remedy for acne. Applied to the skin, dandelion root, echinacea, alfalfa, chaparral, and red clover are most beneficial, and are available from most health stores. Most importantly, stay positive! The problem CAN be beaten if you take care of yourself!
