GIN-CHIA

Bill Lewis, Vice President of Operations

Gin-Chia: Nature's Energy Booster!

Centuries ago, the great American Indian civilizations had their own form of the Pony Express. However, instead of men riding horses at full gallop for 20 miles and then changing steeds, the Indians ran the distance themselves and then passed their package to another man. Each of the runners carried a small pouch containing a provision that they ate on the run to give them the energy and stamina necessary to run their distance.

They often called it "running food" because of its ability to increase endurance. It contains neither caffeine nor any other artificial stimulant; on the contrary, it's 100% natural and proven to be one of the richest plant sources of protein.

Chia

This substance is none other than Chia Salvia Columbariae, or "Chia seed". Chia is a member of the mint family and grows naturally from the Mojave Desert all the way down into Argentina.
For centuries, Chia was of great economic importance to Native Americans of the Southwest and California coast. It was a major food crop of the Aztecs. The roasted seeds were mixed with water and eaten as gruel or ground into flour, called pinole, for baking. Indians also placed the seeds in water to make poultices and beverages.
One tablespoon of Chia seeds mixed in water was reputed to be sufficient nutrition to sustain a man on a forced march for 24 hours. An infusion of the seeds was valued by Spanish Missionaries as a fever remedy and as a poultice for gunshot wounds.
Today, long distance hikers eat Chia seeds to provide energy.

According to a study conducted by the University of Arizona in 2001, Chia possesses the highest percentage of the polyunsaturated fatty acids, a-linolenic and linoleic (i.e. 83.2%), of all crops. It is a great source of Omega-3 fatty acids, natural antioxidants and dietetic fiber. This same study also showed that the protein content of Chia is higher than other nutritional grains. Compare Chia's 19-23% protein to wheat (14%), corn (14%), rice (8.5%), oats (15.3%), and barley (9.2%). And, unlike these other grains, it is a complete protein, meaning that it has the appropriate balance of all essential amino
acids. Chia seed is also a good source of B vitamins, calcium, phosphorus, potassium,
zinc, and copper.

Ginseng

"Ginseng" is said to mean 'the wonder of the world.' The roots are called by the natives of China, Jin-chen, meaning 'like a man,' in reference to their resemblance to the human form. The American Indian name for the plant, garantoquen, has the same meaning. It is held in such esteem by the natives of China, that it is included as a necessity in all their best herbal combinations. The prepared root is chewed to increase vitality and to remove both mental and bodily fatigue.

Gin-Chia

Forever Living Products has combined the best of the East with the best of the West to produce a unique, energy-boosting, staminasustaining tablet, Gin-Chia.
Imagine the nutritional benefits of consuming this delicious combination of Chia Seed and Ginseng Root!
Why not try replacing those caffeine-containing soft drinks with a few Gin-Chia tablets and feel what its like to receive a "natural" boost to your energy level? You'll be glad you

An Acne Home Remedy Does Exist, Will It Work For You?

Peter Crump

Have you tried an acne home remedy? There are an amazing amount of products that are probably sitting in your kitchen right now, just waiting for you to put them on your face! You might be surprised at how helpful these acne home remedies can be. An acne home remedy may be more effective than you thought.

In this day and age, many of us are used to buying our cosmetics in pretty bottle form, with the name of some well-known manufacturer on the side. And while there is no doubt that skincare specialists are working hard to bring us the most up-to-date combinations of chemical ingredients to help our skin look good, many of the basic ingredients they use can be found in our own kitchens, just waiting for us to use them as acne home remedies!

Homemade acne remedies can be as easy to put together as slicing a lemon. The astringent properties of this fruit make it a wonderful acne home remedy. Simply rub a slice of lemon over your skin before you go to bed at night, and see how clear it looks in the morning. Tomatoes are also a great acne home remedy, and can be used in the same way.

Other effective homemade acne remedies include garlic, which can be applied directly to spots and pimples. An application of mint juice is also helpful in treating skin conditions, including acne, insect bites, and even cuts and scrapes.

Raw papaya can also help reduce the swelling and soreness of those angry, sore pimples, as can a paste made from the peel of oranges. There really are a multitude of products available right from your kitchen that can be used as an acne home remedy.

While many of these products are the basis for the expensive cleansers that you will find at the drugstore, using them in a natural form can take a little more time. But remember that these natural acne home remedies can also be kinder to your skin than their manufactured counterparts, which can ultimately have a more healthful effect on the condition of your skin.

Your kitchen contains many products that could be your acne home remedy. If you are fed up trying those sometimes harsh, highly processed skincare products, then a homemade acne remedy might be the refreshing change that makes a real difference to your skin.

An acne home remedy may work better than you thought.

Garlic- Nature's Anti-fungal

Jonathan N. Group, R.D., D.C

Garlic: A Natural Solution to Toenail Fungus

The benefits of garlic as a natural health remedy, once considered to be mere folklore, have been proven by the scientific community in recent years. >From lowering cholesterol to preventing cancer and boosting the immune system, this wonder food continues to show its promise in the field of health and wellness because of the over 100 biologically useful chemicals it contains. By encouraging white blood cells to fight infections and promoting other immune cells to combat bacterial and viral infections and scavenge for cancer cells it supports immune system vitality. Garlic is also a powerful antimicrobial, meaning that it eliminates or slows the growth of harmful microbes. One of these potentially harmful microbes is fungus such as tinea pedis.

One in every five people will be infected with fungus in their life. Fungi are molds and yeasts that can live in the top layer of the skin and toenails. This fungal infection can become quite unsightly and painful. Fungal growth at the toenail begins as a light colored spot under the tip of the nail in addition to a loss of the nail's natural luster. As the fungus grows, it will continue to spread until the entire toenail becomes thick and yellow with crumbling edges. If no treatment is given to destroy the fungus, the condition will worsen and eventually the toenail will have a distorted shape, the color may become green, brown, or black, and a foul odor may be present.

There are many treatments available to eradicate the fungus that causes this unpleasant condition. Interestingly, one of the most effective cures for this condition also happens to be one of the least expensive. And you probably have it in your kitchen already. Garlic has been shown over the years to be a great way to fight even the most persistent cases of toenail fungus.

Treating toenail fungus with garlic is easy and painless. There are several methods that work well and depending on the severity of your fungal infection, you may wish to try one or more of them. Its ability to eliminate the fungus makes it a natural choice and one that is easy to attain and use. In the beginning stages of the infection it is useful to place several chopped cloves in the toes of your socks at night. Or, for a more targeted approach, simply crush some fresh cloves and place them in contact with the affected area for 30 minutes. The skin should be washed before and after both of these applications. Garlic powder can also be used to combat toenail fungus. A light dusting of it is an easy way to get a healthy dose of this powerful natural remedy.

Using garlic is a highly effective, not to mention inexpensive, way to fight even the most persistent cases of toenail fungus. Another product that makes garlic treatment easy is known as garlic oil ointment. You may be able to find this effective formula in health food stores, where it would be sold chilled. If not, it is simple to make and can be stored in your refrigerator for up to one month. It is made by combining one tablespoon of fresh chopped garlic cloves, three tablespoons of coconut oil and one tablespoon of olive oil.

The only downside to using this home remedy for toenail fungus is that it may stain the nail a yellow color which makes the nail look unpleasant. This will go away with time, however it is hard to monitor the progress of new clear nail growing out when the solution will also stain the healthy nail yellow.

When using garlic or any other treatment for your toenail fungus, the success of the treatment depends entirely on your willingness to faithfully treat the toenail every day and to continue your chosen course of therapy for a considerable amount of time. It is best to treat toenail fungus or nail fungus from the inside out. Taking fresh garlic cloves, garlic pills or a super concentrated spagyric formula is most effective. Unfortunately, because the cure for toenail fungus can take six months or more, many people choose to live with it rather than take measures to combat it. The treatment of toenail fungus is lengthy due to the fact that the treatment must continue even after the fungus has died and the toenail begins to clear. The fungus is not completely cured until the infected portion of the toenail has completely grown out. Treatment internally and externally should then continue for at least 3-4 weeks to make sure it does not come back.

Once the fungus has been taken care of and the toenail is completely healthy, it is vital to take steps to ensure that the fungus does not return. Keeping toenails clean and trim is important because fungus can make a home under the toenail. Wear socks that allow the feet to breathe, such as those made from natural fibers such as cotton. If you have exceptionally sweaty feet, give them ample time to dry out during the day, if possible. When doing any type of treatment for toenail fungus or athlete's foot make sure to throw away old infected socks as washing may not kill the fungus.

A Constipation Remedy Using Potassium and Prunes

Rudy Silva

Potassium and prunes are a natural constipation remedy that you can quickly use to help you get constipation relief.

Potassium is needed in your colon walls to insure that peristaltic action occurs. Without potassium, colon walls are weak and unable to respond and contract properly when fecal matter needs to be move.

Potassium in your colon wall tissues brings in more oxygen, which is required for good cell function and elimination of toxins. In addition, potassium creates an alkaline environment inside and outside the cell, which help protect cell walls from bacteria, fungus, and other pathogens.

Potassium is a powerful source when it comes to cleaning, feeding and building your colon walls. Removing the thin layer of buildup – harden mucus, dried fecal matter, waste derby, heavy metals - against your colon wall can be accomplished by eating those foods that are high in potassium.

Excess buildup on your colon walls of fecal matter and toxins is a cause of continual constipation. This build up prevents your colon walls from functioning properly.

Potassium is necessary for reducing anxiety and depression. These conditions can affect peristaltic movements of your colon. Lack of it causes muscles and organs to sag and lack tone.

Potassium, also, draws water out of the body. So when potassium is in your colon it attracts water and pulls it into the fecal matter. This makes your fecal matter softer and easier to move along the colon.

To get more potassium into your diet make a constipation remedy drink by,

Pouring hot water over dried prunes and waiting 10 minutes. Then eat the prunes and drink the juice Do this on an empty stomach in the morning.

The high concentration of potassium and vitamin A, in prunes, stimulates enzymatic processes. These processes melt down fecal wall wastes and dissolve blockages. They also activate peristaltic action to move this waste out through your rectum.

The foods to eat that are high in potassium are:

Kale, cabbage, yellow tomatoes, spinach, carrots, broccoli, cucumbers, cauliflower, alfalfa sprouts, goat milk, sesame seeds, wheat germ brewers yeast, flax seed, grapes, green peppers, pineapple, beets, potatoes with skin Blackstrap molasses

If you have any kidney disease, do not take potassium supplements unless directed by your doctor. If you are pregnant, take potassium only under a doctor's direction.

If you are on any type of drugs, do not take potassium unless directed by your doctor.

When you have constipation it is best to take potassium supplement. Once you have your constipation eliminated back off on the potassium you are taking and depend on your potassium dose from the foods you eat.

My recommended Potassium dose is 1000 – 3000 mg each day taken with meals.

Overcoming Jet Lag

Donald Saunders

Jet lag can be one of the worst, and certainly one of the most frustrating, aspects of long distance travel. Also called desynchronosis (meaning "out of time"), jet lag occurs when travellers pass through multiple time zones, arriving several hours ahead or behind their "home" time.

Travelling across several time zones upsets your body's internal clock, which relies on a variety of environmental cues such as daylight and temperature. The degree of jet lag suffered can be measured in terms of the time change you undergo - the greater the difference in time between your home and your new location, the more disoriented your body clock becomes and the more jet lag you are likely to experience.

One major feature of jet lag is seen in your body's struggle between emotional energy and physical lethargy. While your mind is able to process the change in time and location relatively quickly and can rationally appreciate environmental cues such as daylight (or the lack of it) and time of day, your body will be much slower to respond. Although the time to recover will vary from person to person, most people agree that overcoming jet lag, adjusting to a new time zone and resuming a regular sleep cycle can take two or three days or, in severe cases, an entire a week.

Although not necessarily serious, insomnia caused by jet lag can interfere with mental clarity and efficiency and may have some bearing on your emotional state. Jet lag can also make it difficult for business travellers and tourists alike to maximize the opportunities afforded by their stay. What's more, if insomnia caused by jet lag does not pass, or recurs frequently for more than a couple of weeks, it could be indicative of a more persistent sleep problem.

Natural sleep remedies and approaches can be used to effectively manage jet lag and, by taking a proactive approach, you can significantly decrease or limit the severity and number of symptoms – not to mention shortening the duration of your jet lag.

Establishing a regular and consistent sleep schedule before you even start to make travel plans is one important step towards limiting the effects of jet lag. Simple dietary changes like the reduction or elimination of caffeine and alcohol have also proven effective, and travellers who are accustomed to coping with jet lag often bring along natural sleep remedies like herbal teas and infusions to help induce the body's natural sleep cycles upon arrival at their destination.

You may have heard that sleeping pills and other sleep aids are also effective tools for managing jet lag.

Because sleeping pills suppress the body's immune system in order to generate artificial sleep, as opposed to naturally induced restorative sleep, sleeping pills are not always an effective remedy for jet lag. In fact, sleeping pills can potentially exacerbate the symptoms by delaying the adjustment of your internal body clock.

Finding A Home Remedy For Snoring

Alan Schill

Home remedies are terrific for many things, but did you also know that there are home remedies for snoring? They are natural, safe and, best of all - they are free. If you are looking for the perfect home remedy for snoring, you are at the right place.

Sleeping on your side is a terrific home remedy for snoring. Research shows that individuals who sleep on their back snore more often than side sleepers. Another good home remedy for snoring is to sleep on two pillows instead of one. The additional few inches of elevation may help you to breathe better through the night, which may help you to say goodbye to snoring altogether.

If you are an allergy sufferer, there may be a home remedy for snoring that you can use to also help eliminate your allergy symptoms. When airway passages become restricted, which is often the case with allergies, snoring is a possible result. Breathing steam from hot running water is a home remedy for snoring that is also great for opening the nasal passages and improving breathing. In addition, ridding your home of airborne allergens with the use of air filtration units can help to get rid of many airborne allergens.

Many snoring sufferers, who are searching for the perfect home remedy for snoring, turn to anti-snoring aids for help. The Sleep Genie is one such device, which is doctor recommended. While comfortably supporting the jaw with it's nylon lycra blend, the Sleep Genie holds the mouth closed to prevent snoring. The best part is that this anti-snoring device requires no medication, no invasive surgery and does not hinder the wearer's movement during the night.

Another home remedy for snoring is weight loss. A combination of diet and exercise will not only help you to lose weight and lessen the chances of snoring, but will also promote a healthier lifestyle overall. Obesity is one of the leading causes of snoring, so consider shedding those unwanted pounds and your snoring habit in the process.

This article is intended for informational purposes only. It should not be used as, or in place of, professional medical advice. Before beginning any treatment for snoring, please consult a doctor for a proper diagnosis and remedy.

Fight Fatigue with this Natural Remedy

Kevin Sheldon

Most doctors agree that non-specific fatigue can be exacerbated by modern diets rich in fats and refined carbohydrates. For a graphic example of this, you only have to watch 'Supersize Me' - the Documentary about what happens if you eat nothing but fast food for a month. Additionally, drugs, coffee (caffeine products), smoking and alcohol can make the problem even worse, even though most of these are usually thought of as 'stimulants'. If untreated, chronic fatigue can lead on to much worse conditions such as anemia, hypoglycemia, diabetes, hypothyroidism and even cancer.

So how can one avoid fatigue, without resorting to un-natural stimulants? Here's a natural remedy you can try. The herbs ginseng, lavender, rosemary and sweet flag can all help raise your energy levels naturally. Combine these with vitamin B complexes, vitamins C and D, as all of these have been known to help fight fatigue. The remedy is also improved by the addition of vitamin A, pantothenic acid, B12, folic acid, C, E, iron, calcium and magnesium.

Finally, the most remedies involve a little exercise, and this is no exception. If you can't get a sweat up physically for any reason, try salt-glow skin rubs, or alternate hot and cold showers (not too hot or too cold, mind!).

A little of this remedy should soon get you back into peak form again!

Exercise, diet, rest to fight gout

Anonymous

Question : I'M a 55-year-old man who has been suffering from joint pains for a couple of years. I've consulted my family doctor and was told I'm affected with gout. Is there any natural remedy for this?

Answer : GOUT is a painful and potentially disabling form of arthritis. It causes pain, tenderness, redness, warmth and swelling in some joints. This is due to the increasing levels of uric acids in the body.

Celery seeds neutralise uric acid and other excess acids in the body, thus aiding in the treatment and prevention of gout, joint pain and rheumatism. Guaiacum has an anti-rheumatic action which is beneficial not only for stiff and painful joints but also affected muscles. The combination of celery seeds, guaiacum, ginger, capsicum and sarsaparilla effectively reduces inflammation and soothes the pain.

A combination of exercise, diet, rest and relaxation is important in achieving an optimum level of health and wellness. Light exercise such as brisk walking helps to keep the joint cartilage lubricated. It also strengthens the supporting muscles, tendons and ligaments and increases the range of motion and flexibility of the joints.

Besides that, alcohol, coffee and foods rich in purine such as seafood, beans, sweetbreads and anchovies should be avoided. Try to increase intake of food high in dietary fibre (vegetables and fruits) and complex carbohydrates (oats, barley, bran).

Have sufficient rest as fatigue or even mild tiredness can exacerbate arthritis. Healthy weight management is also important as being overweight can burden the joints, especially the knees, thus aggravating the pain. You may also consider Bowen therapy, a series of precise connective, non-invasive tissue moves that stimulates the energy flow and activates the body's natural healing ability.

Essential fatty acids for eczema and other skin disorders

rudy silva

Many people suffer from eczema and various skin disorders that they don't understand. The names for these skin disorders are numerous – eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, hives, allergies, scales, and so on. Most standard medical treatments fail to cure or give lasting relief to some of these disorders. This makes it so frustrating for those with these diseases since even dermatologist and doctors find it difficult to find a cure for them.

Finding a treatment for these skin disorders is difficult since every person requires a different treatment. The treatment required depends on the person's nutritional deficiencies and emotional make. Some people will respond to a specific treatment and using this same treatment on another person can have no effect.

Here is a natural remedy that has a 50% chance of working for you. In a clinical study where this nutritional program was used, 50% of the people involved show skin improvement. So if you are suffering from some sort of skin disease that seems to hang on, consider trying this remedy that requires using a combination of 3 groups of nutrients

Eczema remedy nutrient one

Take 1- 4 tablespoons of flaxseed oil. This oil contains the essential oil omega-3, which the body converts to EPA and DHA oils. These oils are then convert to specific prostaglandin through the direction of the omega-3 oil.

The actual amount of flaxseed oil to use is something you need to experiment with. First start out with a small amount, ½ tablespoon or more, if its some thing you don't normally use. Then after a week increases it to 1-2 tablespoons, then a week later go to 2-3 tablespoons. You need to find the trigger point where it starts to give you results in decreasing your skin inflammation.

The secret to what I am telling you here is that you need to be consistent in using flaxseed oil every day. And another thing, you may have to use for 2-3 months to see some results. For some people it can take longer, maybe up to a year. Yet, for other people results can be seen within a week.

Eczema remedy nutrient two

Here's how you can make flaxseed oil more effective. Taking B vitamins boost the effects of flaxseed oil in your body by helping to create prostaglandins. Remember prostaglandins help to reduce inflammation. Start with a daily supplement of the 50 B-vitamins and later move up to the 100 B-vitamins. Always look to see which dose helps your condition to determine the dose you need.

Eczema remedy nutrients three

One additional set of nutrients is needed in the use of flaxseed oil for eczema and other skin disorders. You must take antioxidant supplements, which include vitamin A, C, E, and selenium to protect the flaxseed oil from deteriorating and becoming rancid in the body. The body automatically used the stores of antioxidants that you have, to protect the flaxseed oil, so it will depleted these antioxidants unless your restore them by supplementation.

Here are additional items to know:

· One tablespoon of flaxseed oil contains 100 calories

· If you start to see side effects or allergies using flaxseed oil, stop using it.

· Use flaxseed oil in divided doses. Use it in salad, soups, and orange juice

· Never cook or heat flaxseed oil

· Always keep flaxseed oil in the refrigerator when it is not in use.

In addition to taking the above three eczema remedy supplements, you can use flaxseed oil on your affected skin area. In some people it has helped their condition. Start by applying the oil to a small area to make sure there is no adverse reaction.

Remember the secret to getting results is to be consistent in your used of these supplements and to test to see what quantity of these supplements gives you results.

Enjoy Summer And Vacation Good Health

Pieternel Van Giersbergen

Summer can be a real health challenge. Our ambitious travel plans leave us vulnerable to new influences from the new environments we so eagerly embrace. Here are some practical tips on how to stay balanced, energetic and well.

Dehydration

You needn't cross the desert to suffer from dehydration. Many of us suffer chronic dehydration simply because we don't drink as much water as we should. Our bodies are 65-80% of water, depending on our age. To keep them in balance, it's no surprise - we need lots of water! And many people just don't drink enough of it. Sodas, juices, coffee and teas do not answer the same need, with the result that the flow in our body systems is disturbed. Our arteries become polluted and our organ function is compromised. People with cardiac disease, and kidney and gallbladder stones often don't drink 6-8 glasses of water a day and are chronically dehydrated.

Drinking only sodas, coffee, alcohol and the like also depletes our minerals and vitamins, harming us even more. To counteract this depletion we need a quality multivitamin. How to know what constitutes good quality? Put your multivitamin in a glass of water. If it hasn't dissolved in ½ hour it will probably not be absorbed in your body, but will simply be eliminated. Be sure, too, that it is as natural as possible. For example, Vitamin E called tocopheryl is obtained naturally. If this is not stated on the bottle, it is probably an artificially derived version that is inferior.

Stress and Depression

Stressed out? Use Vitamin C daily. If you want to detoxify as well, take at least 2000 mg. per day. Depressed? Send me an email. I am working on two articles full of practical suggestions that will make a difference.

Get a good massage: Your friend doesn't have to be an expert to rub some Oil of Oregano into your muscles with love and goodwill. You will feel your muscles relaxing as oxygen penetrates deep into the tissue. Don't forget your shoulders and neck, the places we most often tend to tense up. Where to obtain Oil of Oregano?

Eat fruits and vegetables in abundance and avoid sugars. Did you know that every bacteria and virus loves to grow on sugar? Avoid polyunsaturated fats, use unheated cold-pressed olive oil as much as possible, and use flaxseed to get your omega 3.

Summer flu

Stomach flu (or gastroenteritis) is often caused by a virus or food poisoning. Avoid solids for the first day. Drink water, broth (?Pieternel?) and some apple juice to maintain your electrolyte levels. A tablespoon of acidophilus every hour can be beneficial. When you can tolerate solids, start with grated apple and cinnamon, mashed bananas and rice water (water and rice has been cooked). Aloe Vera juice is also a good option, or kefir in its natural form. If this goes well, expand your variety of foods slowly.

Sunburn

Aloe Vera is excellent for sunburn, whether in juice form or straight from the plant. See www.pieternel.com

It's best to avoid extended exposure to sunshine as much as possible. It can dry out the mucus in your nose, eyes and ears. To cleanse and make these parts succulent again, use a solution of salt water. Warm up one cup of water with a pinch of salt – about as salty as your tears. Let it cool, then put it into a dropper bottle. Use it to clean out your nose, eyes and ears, where it can accelerate the hygienic discharge of mucus.

Swimmer's Ear (and Earaches generally)

Is anything more relaxing than getting away from it all with a good swim? For some though, this means "swimmer's ear" and earaches. But these need not discourage you. For problems with swimmer's ear use Earacheaway. The name says it all. This is a remedy with a base of olive leave extract and vinegar that will relieve your infected ears. For more information see

Be sure to enjoy your life and radiate love, so love finds its way back to you.

Enema Or Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Constipation Managed With Intestinal Cleansing

James Zeller

Ever had an enema? Do you suffer from constipation? If you suffer from abdominal cramps, bloating and some diarrhea then you might be a sufferer of irritable bowel syndrome. If you are looking for relief, good news…

The subtle symptoms creep into our life one at a time until we find a barrage of complications we never had before. Constipation is the most obvious difference, then pain, abdominal cramps and bloating followed with occasional diarrhea, all add up to irritable bowel syndrome.

Our lifestyles have shaped our habits to fit an unnatural pattern of elimination. We eat and rush to work or school, suppressing the natural elimination that should occur within 20 minutes after eating.

Some individuals may wait as long as a week between bowel movements. This only complicates the impaction, toxic build up in the bowel, which comes back into the blood stream as toxic waste, and creates a need for laxatives or enemas.

Enema can be a natural remedy for irritable bowel syndrome and constipation. The early 1900's medical practice was that when a patient was admitted to the hospital for any ailment, the patient first received an enema. A bit messy and inconvenient, enema is usually a last resort. Diet and intestinal cleanse using all natural herbs has become more popular and healthy.

Colon cleanse has become a buzzword as it has been determined that the origin of most disease starts in the colon. The impaction of fecal matter that lines the walls of the colon without being eliminated can easily be 15 pounds. Decay and putrefaction in the bowl throws the immune system in extreme overload, ridding the body of toxins and trying to fight off disease. If the immune system fails, disease grows in the body.

Irritable bowel syndrome can be controlled before permanent damage is done to the colon. Herbal colon cleanse is the most effective on a long-term use. Herbal colon detoxification is also called colon cleanse. High fiber foods in the diet are natural scrubbing agents for the colon to cleanse the cilia that absorb nutrients.

Constipation is not all corrected with a laxative. Drink 5 glasses of water a day. Avoid excess bread and pastry. Augment your diet with foods high in fiber. Choose an intestinal formula supplement that will stimulate the peristaltic action in your bowel and strengthens the colon muscles.

Avoid harsh laxatives that are not all natural. Dependence on over the counter laxatives can lead to weakened elimination muscles and loss of natural body function.

It is claimed that all habits can be learned in 21 days. In the next three weeks try an intestinal herbal formula and make time to eliminate within 30 minutes of eating. Your body is designed to heal itself if you do not override the master plan.

Smelly Feet

Sharon Hopkins

You take care of your feet by washing them regularly.

You change your smelly socks at least once a day. Your shoes are well kept. But in spite of all this, your feet stink. Sometimes the condition is so bad that by simply removing your shoes, people around you know that you have smelly feet. The condition can be embarrassing, especially in public. By following some simple tips, you can take care of your feet and avoid the problem of smelly feet.

The common home remedies for foot odor are:

• Apply tea to the area: Using a soak made from tea bags and applying it to your feet will eliminate the problem of smelly feet. This is because the tannic acid from tea tans the skin. Take a couple of tea bags and boil them in a pint of water for 15 minutes. Then remove the tea bags and pour the pint of this strong, hot tea into a basin or a large pot and fill it with two quarts of cool water. Soak your feet for 30 minutes daily for seven or ten days and you will not experience the problem any longer.

• Use acne remover: If your feet really stink very badly, you suffer from toxic sock syndrome. In this case, you should look at your soles. If they are whitish in colour with tiny pits, you are suffering from the condition called pitted keratolysis. The microorganism that causes this condition is the same one that causes acne, you can use over-the-counter acne medication with 10 percent benzoyl peroxide.

• Go for an antiperspirant: There are special foot deodorants to remedy the problem but they can be quite expensive. But you go in for any underarm antiperspirant, which is a cheaper alternative. Go for a roll-on that has aluminum chloride hexahydrate as the active ingredient. Use it twice a day. But avoid aerosols since all their smell is dissipated in the air.

Does Your Child Have Constipation?

Rudy Silva

Child have constipation just like adults and perhaps more often since they don't like to eat food that has a lot of fiber - vegetables and more vegetables. Children with constipation can use the same natural remedies as adults, but in lesser amounts.

You can use these guidelines for children 3 and older. Children should have a bowel movement everyday. It would be best for them to have at least two, if they are eating three meals a day. If your child is having three or less bowel movement per week, it is time to get worried and take action.

If you use some natural remedies, and your child still has only 3 or less bowel movements per week, then its time for you to take your child to see a doctor. Continual constipation can reflect a more serious condition, especially if your child is eating the foods that promote natural bowel movements.

Here is a list of things that you can do for your child with constipation. In fact, these recommendations are also good for you if you have constipation.

1. Drink more water - children are very active and will perspire more than an adult during the day and lose water. If the body needs water it will take from the stools and make them hard and difficult to expel.
2. Eat more fiber - fruits and vegetables is where the fiber is. Using artificial fiber and laxative products is not a good idea. The body can become dependent on these products and lose its bowel sensitive and colon wall tone.
3. Having a bowel movement when it is time - teach your children to go to the bathroom when they get the urge. A lot of times they will put it off if they are playing or doing something they like. Putting it off will de-sensitize the colon and it will stop giving the bowel movement signal after a time. This will lead to constipation.
4. Use natural products that promote bowel movements - there are many fruits and vegetables that promote bowel movements. Use these as snacks. In cases where you use a natural remedy that is bitter, remind your child that it is medicine to help them go to the bathroom more frequently.

Drinking Water

Have your constipated child drink more water throughout the day. Use distilled water. Minimize the use of sodas, tea, and sweeten juices, as these are not water. Eating fruits and vegetable provide the body with distilled water since they contain up to 70% water. Drink unsweetened fruit and vegetable juices provide water and promote bowel movements.

Eating Fruits and Vegetables

The best time to give your child fruits is in the morning. From the time they wake up to noontime is when the body is detoxifying. Heavy foods like meat, milk, cereal, and eggs hinder the detoxifying process. Fruits and their juices accelerate the detoxifying process and promote bowel movement, provided no protein or carbohydrates are eaten. A good breakfast is simply a bowel of fruit. A glass of juice can also be provided.

When in season use a big bowl of watermelon and cantaloupe slices. Otherwise, use a variety of seasonal fruits. Use fruits as a snack between meals. But do not give fruits after a meal as desert. Wait 2-3 hours after a meal before giving fruit. This helps digestion and promotes bowel movements.

Vegetables should be eaten with each meal at noontime and dinner. Vegetables provide water, fiber, and an array of minerals and vitamins necessary for good digestion and colon function.

To make the salad more appealing for your child add raisins or pieces of apple to it.

Look to my other articles for Natural Constipation Remedies. Use those that I discuss. For a child, any herbal products that are used as a constipation remedy should be used at 1/3 the amount listed for an adult.

Using Natural Remedies For Constipation

Nicky Pilkington

There are two basic types of constipation - organic and
functional. Organic constipation is a result of some physical
change, obstruction, or distortion in your colon. This type of
constipation needs immediate attention from a doctor.

This article only covers Functional Constipation. This type of
constipation is a result of not following a proper diet,
drinking enough fluids, having good emotional health and not
having a good lifestyle - a lifestyle that promotes good
movement of digested foods through the intestines and colon.

Even though there are many definitions for constipation,
constipation is simply a condition where the fecal matter
traveling through your colon remains too long in your colon
before traveling out the rectum.

Constipation is a symptom and not a disease. It is a condition
that tells you your colon is not working properly or that you
have some underlying gastrointestinal disease you are not aware
of.

Constipation may be a warning that your diet and lifestyle are
causing an imbalance in your body. It is a symptom that many
people ignore or that many people try to eliminate by using
unnatural and oftentimes dangerous drugstore laxatives.

Drugstore laxatives should be avoided when you have
constipation. They can become habit-forming, damage your colon,
and have nasty side effects if used too long. They sometimes
have the tendency of creating the problem you are trying relieve
- constipation.

To keep your body in chemical balance, it is important to use
only natural remedies for constipation. Natural remedies such as
herbs and foods bring into the colon those nutrients that can
build up your colon and reactivate your natural peristaltic
action.

As you use natural remedies, keep in mind that one particular
remedy may not work for you. You may have to try a different
remedy or increase dosage of the one you are using. If you
supply what your body needs by using a specific remedy, then you
will get results from using that remedy.

Experimenting is part of finding out what remedy is best for
you. There are many different natural remedies you can choose
from. Look on the internet for "natural remedies for
constipation" and you will find many listings.

Keep in mind that most remedies should be used only for a short
time, two to four days and not longer than 2 weeks. They should
only be used for the time needed to clear your constipation.
This might be just 4 or 5 times or sometimes it may take several
weeks.

There are some herbal combinations that can be used for longer
duration. These combinations can improve your colon's health and
get your bowels moving again.

If you have constipation, the natural balance and function of
your colon has been affected. But, natural remedies can bring
you colon back into balance.

Discover The Truth About Apple Cider Vinegar Remedies

Rebecca Prescott

I was reviewing an ebook on vinegar remedies and uses recently, and came across some surprising assertions. Despite the ebook author claiming that vinegar was not a cure all, the list of complaints vinegar supposedly fixed was astounding. Almost as astounding as the rationale behind using vinegar to fix said complaints.

Apart from the evils of satisfying one's 'debased' taste buds over nourishing the body - which is apparently the cause of all of modern man's ills. The author suggest we start looking to 'natural resources' that have been used in the days before Christ. Apparently that was a bit of a turning point nutritionally.

Anyway, sunshine, water and air aside, its all herbs, honey, and homebrews. These are the antidote to the 'unnatural chemical compounds' that are plaguing us. Hmmm - that must be why we our ancestors lived about double the life span that we do. Oh, I'm sorry, its we who live on average twice as long as our ancestors...

It would be lovely if we could explain away the plethora of chronic and acute illnesses that affect so many people. There is no doubt that in some cases nutritional choice has played a causative or aggravating factor in a person's ill health. But people who follow very healthy, natural diets also get sick. People who exercise still have heart attacks. The answer is not always simple, nor is it always to be found by glorifying folk remedies or taking complex Oriental classification systems and treatments out of context. Which is not to say there is not some value, for certain things, in either traditional medicine, or folk remedies.

But giving herbal treatments, or folk remedies, the veneer of pseudo science, does not help anyone.

The author of this ebook stated that 'a number of outstanding authorities' have proven the 'therapeutic' value of using apple cider vinegar for complaints ranging from obesity to arthritis - without naming said authorities. And the chief rationale behind apple cider vinegar's supposed wide ranging value is that, like apples, it contains Phosphorous, Chlorine, Potassium, Sodium, Magnesium, Calcium, Sulfur, Iron, Fluorine, Silicon, plus many trace elements. And, Potassium.

Now, apple cider vinegar may in fact contain all of these things. It certainly does contain potassium, but only very small amounts - about 15mg per tablespoon as compared to 159mg per apple, or 288mg for 10 rings of dried apple. Cider vinegar has no sodium, no magnesium, and about 1mg of calcium and phosphorus. Hardly noteworthy. But that doesn't stop the book promoting apple cider vinegar as encouraging the health of veins and capillaries, and therefore heart health and blood pressure. And whilst we're at it, it helps the blood clot better, though there is no explanation as to this mechanism. By this rationale, tomorrow it will help colonize mars. Presumably in the same mysterious way as it stores the fiber this ebook attributes cider vinegar as having.

But just as apple cider vinegar in fact has no fiber - unlike apples - so cider vinegar is not nearly as miraculous or mysterious as the ebook's logic. Vinegar may in fact have promise in cleaning without having to resort to harsh chemicals. And in may also be beneficial for some health purposes. But it does not do nearly as much as is claimed. And by creatively linking it to every ailment imaginable, it serves to turn herbal remedies into a bad joke. Mars anyone?

Magic Secrets Revealed: Master Mentalism Review

I just got the Master Mentalism manual a while ago and was quite surprised with the content. Normally, internet magic e-books are filled with fluff and useless filler material that don't reveal any valuable information. Master Mentalism, however, contains tons of relevant, valuable magic secrets. I have been performing magic for quite a number of years now, and have learned many new magic effects from this guide.

Content:

Master Mentalism is a pdf ebook with a total of 223 pages. The book is divided into six major sections:

1. Mentalism, Mind Reading and Psychological Illusions (the “meat” of the book)
2. Interviews with Criss Angel and David Blaine
3. David Copperfield secrets
4. Levitation techniques
5. Card tricks
6. Hypnosis

Ryan Even does a fantastic job of thoroughly covering each of the sections, although the bulk of the book is in first chapter of mentalism. The magic tricks are of different skill levels; some of the tricks can be learned instantly while others will definitely take time perfect. The majority of the magic tricks involve more than one spectator. If you intend to perform for one particular person, you might not get as much out of this book. But if you’re the type who wants to impress and entertain groups at parties and other social events, then Master Mentalism if definitely right for you.

My favorite mental effect was “Drunk on Water.” Ryan teaches you how to make a volunteer feel and act drunk after drinking plain water! There is absolutely no alcohol involved, just good old H20.

Section three is of Master Mentalism shocking; it reveals David Copperfield’s most notable illusions. You can search all over the world for these secrets, but Chapter 3 of Master Mentalism is the only place you’re going to find them. As I said before, I have been a magician for a long time, but the first place I learned how David Copperfield managed to make the Statue of Liberty disappear was in Master Mentalism. I think this chapter on David Copperfield’s secrets alone is worth the price of the entire book.

Ryan mentions that a world renowned magic consultant, "Mr. X" to reveal the secrets. This might just be hype, or it might be true. Either way, the secrets are pretty darn good.

Pros:

1. Quality of the magic tricks
2. Easy to understand
3. Hypnosis section (very interesting material)
4. Copperfield secrets
5. Covers subtleties and psychological secrets

Cons:

1. More pictures could have helped
2. Could have included more card tricks
3. Expert magicians will know how some of the tricks are done

Overall:
Master Mentalism is perfect for beginners who know little about magic. Amateurs and professional magicians will already know a few of the secrets, but will still find gems here and there. Even if you’re not into magic, and you’re just looking for a way to impress friends or meet girls, then Master Mentalism will give you many powerful resources to improve your social life. If you must put a score on it, I’d give it a 9.5/ 10.

Diabetes Herbal Remedy Works Better Than Insulin?

Doug Smith

It is another case of a home remedy waiting to be discovered. A new study suggests that a traditional Indian diabetes herb treatment lowers blood sugar and insulin levels as well as today's prescription drugs.

39 healthy adults received extracts of the herb Salacia oblonga with promising results. Insulin and blood glucose levels were lowered by a maximum of 29 and 23 percent, respectively. These reductions occurred when test subjects received the largest dose of the herb extract (1,000 mg).

"These kinds of reductions are similar to what we might see with prescription oral medications for people with diabetes," said Steve Hertzler, a study co-author and an assistant professor of nutrition at Ohio State University.

Salacia oblonga is an herb native to regions of India and Sri Lanka. Researchers found that it can bind to intestinal enzymes that convert carbohydrates into glucose. If the herb binds to these enzymes before the enzymes can turn carbs into glucose, then less glucose sugar enters the bloodstream. Therefore less insulin is required.

"Lowering blood glucose levels lowers the risk of disease-related complications in people with diabetes," Hertzler said. "Also, poor compliance with diabetes medications often hinders the effectiveness of these drugs. It may be easier to get someone to take an herb with food or in a beverage, as opposed to a pill."

Although this study was performed on healthy adults, the researchers also want to study the effects of the Salacia oblonga herb in diabetic patients.

Hertzler also commented that, "A lot of studies show that lowering blood sugar levels reduces the risk for all kinds of diabetes-related complications, such as kidney disease and nerve and eye damage. We want to see if this herb has this kind of effect."

The herb caused an intestinal gas side effect. Researchers measured hydrogen and methane levels in the breath of study participants for a two-day period following each test. Additionally, participants rated the frequency and intensity of any nausea, cramps, or gas they experienced.

The studies will continue, but the herb is difficult to find in the U.S. Some online suppliers do exist.

This study was conducted by Ohio State University (OSU), and supported by the Ross Products Division of Abbott Laboratories in Columbus. It was reported in a recent issue of the Journal of the American Dietetic Association, and on the OSU website at http://researchnews.osu.edu/archive/saloblo.htm where the study researchers can be contacted and the full news release can be found.

A seemingly-obscure herb appears to have the same medicinal properties as some of today's most-researched diabetes medicines. Just imagine what other home remedy treasures are waiting to be uncovered.

Detox To Lose Weight

Sandra Kim Leong

Detoxification programs have been promoted as the remedy to today's unhealthy lifestyles for years. Proponents of detoxification note that a good detox can help increase energy, slow the aging process, aid the digestive system and help relieve the symptoms of diabetes and asthma. One of the greatest benefits of a good detoxification program is weight loss.

Our bodies are equipped with several systems to help it naturally detox. However, today's stressful lifestyles and unhealthy eating habits often overburden our natural systems. As our body struggles to keep up with the toxic matter flowing through our systems it often falls behind. Toxic waste begins to back up and the balance of our body is disrupted.

A good detox will help restore the body's balance, eliminate the waste building up and make our systems run much more efficiently. During autopsies, coroners often find colons that are more than 75% clogged with waste matter. This causes the systems that clean our blood and intestinal tracts to back up. Nutrients can't be absorbed as efficiently and we gain weight, become tired and irritable. Health issues often follow.

Cleaning the colon and the liver often completely relieves these clogs and allows our bodies to return to optimum functioning. Nutrients are used efficiently and many find that the detox program has such great results that they simply don't crave sugar and fried foods after the detoxification. Many report feeling so good after detoxifying that they are motivated to eat more carefully.

With the toxins being flushed out of the body, many report a dramatic increase in energy level, encouraging many to exercise and further assist their detox in reducing weight.

Researchers have found that as the level of toxins in the body rises, more fat is manufactured to protect the body. Weight gain is a natural by-product of toxin buildup. Removing the toxins from the body allows the body to release the excess fat, resulting in a natural weight loss.

There are many detoxification programs on the market. Choose a gentle, well researched program that includes a parasite remover as well. You'll be pleasantly surprised at your increased energy and amount of weight loss!

Myths and legends often have their basis in a grain of truth.
So I wondered if home remedies, alternative treatments, and
folklore cures might also be based on truth. First, let's
try to define the phrase home remedy.

There's No Place Like Home

The name itself proclaims that a home remedy is, well, a
remedy that's administered at home! Prescription drugs are
often given at home as remedies, so we need to dig a little
deeper. When you think of home remedy, don't you think of
some sort of cure or treatment that's outside mainstream
modern medicine? Me too. Let's take a look at some choices.

The Holistic View

The dictionary defined holistic medicine as an approach to
medical care that emphasizes the study of all aspects of a
person's health, including physical, psychological, social,
economic, and cultural factors. The holistic definition is
very broad and could apply to many medical approaches.

Peaches & Herbs?

Many people associate herbs with home remedies. The
definition for herbal remedy is a plant, or plant part,
or an extract or mixture of these used to prevent,
alleviate, or cure disease called also herbal medicine.
That sounds like a good definition, although home
remedies tend to encompass more than herbal remedies.
What's next?

Folk Medicine

Folk medicine is defined as traditional medicine especially
as practiced by people isolated from modern medical services,
and usually involving the use of plant-derived remedies on an
empirical basis. Now we're getting somewhere! The old-timers
practiced medicine not based entirely on plants when modern
medicine wasn't available. Let's dig a little deeper into
the dictionary.

Home At Last

Finally we find the dictionary's definition of home remedy:
a simply prepared medication or tonic often of unproven
effectiveness administered without prescription or pro-
fessional supervision. So - it is a remedy prepared outside
the realm of modern medicine, it's not limited to herbs, but
unproven effectiveness? I disagree. I can prove that some
of the simplest home remedies have led to some of our
greatest medical breakthroughs (but that's another article).

Is That Your Final Answer?

Based on the research above, let's agree to define a home
remedy as follows:

An experienced-based or even accidental remedy or cure
prepared by common folk from herbs, plants, or other
available ingredients when modern medical help was
unavailable (or hadn't been devised yet).

That's my answer, and I'm sticking to it!

SECRET SERVICE MIAMI FIELD OFFICE ARRESTS MEMBERS OF
ORGANIZED ELECTRONIC CRIME RING IN SOUTH FLORIDA

(Miami, FL) – The United States Secret Service today announced the recent arrests and indictments of four members of an organized fraud ring in South Florida. In all, the individuals – identified as Miguel Alegria, 46, of Hialeah, FL; Raynier Pupo, 22, of Miami, FL; Ariel Montero, 32, of Aventura, Florida; and Javier Padron-Bravo, 35, of Aventura, FL – have been charged with aggravated identity theft, counterfeit credit card trafficking and conspiracy.

In a coordinated operation between the U.S. Secret Service’s Miami and Nashville Field Offices earlier this year, Miami Electronic Crimes Task Force agents arrested Julio Lopez, age 30, and Lopez’s girlfriend Anett Villar, age 26, both of Hialeah, FL, after receiving warrants for their arrests from the Nashville Field Office in an online carding investigation. Julio Lopez had used the screen name "Blinky" and had been identified as trafficking counterfeit credit cards and identifications for years over the Internet.

As a result of the initial investigation targeting Lopez (aka "Blinky"), evidence was discovered of an organized fraud ring of Cuban nationals, which included Alegria, Pupo, Montero and Padron-Bravo, operating in South Florida. These individuals were sending large amounts of money via E-Gold accounts to known cyber criminals in Eastern Europe in return for tens of thousands of stolen credit card account numbers. The stolen credit

card account numbers were then used to counterfeit credit cards in “plants” throughout southern Florida.

As a result of these arrests, more than 200,000 credit card accountnumbers were recovered in connection with the ring’s activity, which was responsible for fraud losses of more than $75 million. Additionally, agents seized two pick-up trucks, $10,000 cash and one handgun in connection with the case.

“This case demonstrates the potential for online criminals to inflict significant damage on a global scale, but this investigation and the resulting indictments and arrests should serve as stark reminders to cyber criminals that law enforcement will continue to pursue them wherever they are,” said Special Agent in Charge William Sims of the U.S. Secret Service’s Miami Field Office.

This investigation is just one example of the U.S. Secret Service’s cyber-initiatives to combat financial fraud and identity theft. These initiatives are designed to disrupt activity on criminal web forums, where the suspects openly engage in the sale of stolen and compromised credit card information, false identity documents and malicious software that enables criminals to obtain access to victims’ computers.

The U.S. Secret Service has taken a lead role in cyber crime investigations and, through a nationwide network of Electronic Crimes Task Forces, has established partnerships in both the law enforcement and businesscommunities to protect the nation’s critical financial infrastructure.

Constipation remedy using citrus juice

rudy silva

Citrus Juices

Citrus juices are a constipation remedy that is an excellent way to stimulate your colon and other parts of the body. Since your colon is less active at night, drinking juices as soon as you awaken and get up can stimulate strong peristaltic action and promote a bowel movement.

Lemons

Lemons are filled with minerals, especially potassium, Vitamin C, and bioflavonoids. They have a cleansing action for the entire body.

Fresh lemon juice is the king of fruit juices. It contains citric acid, which acts in the body in a way no other juice does. First it acts on the liver to build up its enzymes so it can detoxify toxins in the blood. Then it combines with calcium to form soluble chemical substances. This makes it effective in removing kidney and pancreatic stones, plack build up along artery walls, and other calcium deposits that occur in the body.

When the liver, gallbladder, and pancreas are not working right, food digestion is affected. This in turn will create constipation.

Use lemons moderately since they break up oils during digestion and in our body they make oils less available to our cells and joints.

If you have lemon allergies or ulcers then you should avoid lemon juice. If you have arthritis lemons are not a good choice.

Here's what to do:

Squeeze one lemon into a glass of warm distilled water. Drink it first thing when you wake up. Don't drink anything else for at least 1/2 hour

You can use a citrus press to juice the lemon or just squeeze it to get the juice out.

Grapefruit Juice

Another constipation remedy you can use is drinking a glass of fresh squeezed grapefruit first thing in the morning. Again wait at least 1/2 hour before you eat anything.

If you are taking any anticonvulsant drugs, birth control pills, estrogen, protease inhibitors and even other types of drugs avoid drinking grapefruit juice. It slows the breakdown of certain drugs allowing them to increase in the blood to dangerous levels.

Grapefruit and Orange Juice

One drink I like in the morning is a combination of grapefruit and orange juice. Just prepare a half and half drink of these citrus fruits and drink it first thing in the morning.
